For me, the game looks good enough without compromising much in performance/optimization. Kinda refreshing nowadays tbh.
yeah, you aren’t suppossed to fly low to evade missiles or something…
This isn’t a standard we should have. These trees are basically a decade old, and deserve a higher poly model.
This was acceptable 10 years ago, but not now
This is normal for a game like wt. Most flight sims have such low quality trees for unimportant parts of the map. But gaijin needs to fix the hit boxes of trees.
However gaijin can add more LOD options for those who have high end PCs.
What is industry standard according to you?
For you if you aren’t satisfied
Remember, this is a game where using ULQ gives a big advantage, so basically ULQ is the “normal graphics” for WT.
In other words - WT looks like dogpoop. And the only way to make it look better (still not good) makes the game more difficult. So it’s reasonable to think Gaijin doesn’t even care at this point as players are happy to be stuck at ULQ.
Shortly, not how WT currently looks and behaves.
Obviously, this is not a matter of how detailed trees are.
But a matter of the devs cant properly code adjusting LOD with distance.
Everything pops in high res super late…
And the game eats up all the VRAM it can get even after removing HD texture pack and lowering everything.
So the “industry standard” is loading in textures and 3d object models properly with distance, as they get rendered over more and more pixels the closer you get, so you wont even notice.
Game was running perfect during the summer, no stutter, good graphics, nothing like whats going on now.
Nope its not normal, it was not like this for several years.
The game is weird because the vehicle models are very good looking but the maps look very dated.
Keep in mind Star Wars Battlefront came out almost 10 years ago:
it literally is otherwise most games would have extremely low FPS, hell Minecraft does it by only rendering chunks around you other games do it in other ways, lower graphics means better performance
Yeah, no. Only people with rubbish computers and wannabe sweats use ULQ. The fact they’ve just added ray tracing and have continued to improve the quality of skins for existing vehicles, means that Gaijin certainly cares about the game looking good. Anyway, would be good if they removed ULQ.
Sure, show me a gameplay of a contemporary game where textures and object models switch suddenly from crap to very detailed. (and do so when they are filling half the screen)
dont have any gameplay personally but: https://youtu.be/ebixv1k9beo see this video cause most games do this along with other things
Also, AC7 does this (Ace Combat 7) with its ground target models (cause your not supposed to pay attention to them your just supposed to kill them) the only times war thunder has high quality ground is where tanks can drive if its outside of the playable area its not rendered in detail
I play on X box X which is the top console for X box and I find that the ground targets are not rendering until I am too close to hit them properly, not what you need when you are challenging SPAA etc . I have a hard wired home system and a 100m from the exchange which is supposed to be fibre optic.
Its meant to combined arms but flying sucks in GRB as CAS.
that’s why I don’t bring aircraft to ground battles
Some wisdom there buddy : )
I tried out switching to the dx12 (beta…) and changing antialiasing from TAA to FSR ,
and the graphics is much better looking, while the problem happens much less.
Tried the dx12 before, last time in december, and it was just as bad as dx11.
How does this “map” look from 5 miles distance?
What about surroundings for aircraft?
You cant compare crysis map with wt’s map. Almost all modern games have LOD issues these days.
Also you are comparing FPS game maps with WT’s map. FPS games have way smaller maps compared to wt’s map. Since those maps are smaller its easier for the devs to include more details. But gaijin cant added such detail in WT’s air maps because of performance concerns.
