I never actually had someone roll my PL-12’s I think, but I had PL-12s failing to approach the target, as I explained above with the derby/PL-12 issues.
Last time I recorded such an issue with the PL-12, it was just someone who did a half roll and pulled into another direction, it wasn’t even an aggressive turn/roll.
The missile kinda lofted above where it should be, and then failed to connect because while the missile offset itself away from the target, and with the target turning into a different direction, the PL-12 failed to pull enough to correct its mistake. (the missile wasn’t notched or anything)
Similar to what i’ve noticed with derby/R-darter for years

I got the premium Su-30 after the nerfs so why would I use the PL-12
i prefer the j10a to be honest.
its fm is better for 13.7 than the j10c at 14.3, and its radar is just insane. loadout isnt bad, especially since it has access to track suspension irccm.
pl12a is the most modern missile china has though, when you combine it with bad aircraft at top tier its just insufferable. lower tiers are a bit better with the mkk, j11’s, m2k and all
Can you use R-77 and PL-12 in the su-30mki? Didn’t realise that.
i think this is a great place to discuss this, actually. what should i use to grind the last 2 aircraft on the j16 line? j15t hell nah, idk about j10c and f16v. i do have the su30mkk, but im really bored of that aircraft. mirage 2000 isn’t fully spaded, i’m grinding the micas but meh. same with j11’s.
The J-10A feels nicer to fly as it is less “stiff” and rolls better… feels similar to the F-16, but the J-11B has the better FM for sure, better climb rate in supersonic speeds, is faster, considerably better energy retention, and turn rates across the board.
The advantages don’t stop there… J-11B has more missiles, IRST, more countermeasures, better gun.
What else?.. The radar is essentially the same as the J-10A but with IRST, same 140º degrees, range and all.

j10a has 170 degrees, its not much since the missile cant pull but i like its scan rate, it has nice situational awareness.

yyeaaah i noticed that. probably because the su27’s are good slow fighters in the first place, but i just cant shake a flanker off my six when i’m in the j10, even the premium flankers. that thing does not like to be slow.

I was wondering about that before you replied. I recalled incorrectly then, so yeah the radar is better on the J-10A, but I think the IRST still makes the kit on the J-11B superior.
Not only that, the su-27 variants are rate monsters, at around 22.5deg/s sustained in high speeds, the 27SM and J-11B can rate like an F-16 block10. Before the nerf they could comfortably outrate it even, now I think its comparable IIRC.
By the way, if you enjoy the 170º radar, I’d suggest the MiG-29SMT at 13.3, with R-77 they combine like a treat.
The MiG-29KR is also a dogfighting monster at 13.7, almost at F-2A levels, but with HMD and R-77 you can imagine the fun.

i don’t find that plane fun for some reason. cant quite put my finger on it, low countermeasures, babysitting the throttle (a lot of my keybinds like switching countermeasures and switching missiles are on shift + something so its extra annoying) the radar’s search isnt that great i just dont know, but i stopped playing that. it should have been a j10a with r77’s, but it doesnt feel like it. could be skill issue idk

You can sit at 110% no problem above 4km alt and on 109% overheating isnt an issue either
Below 4km I find that I have plenty of time to do what I need to do before throttling back down to 109%

As a J-11B user, my only complaint is why the hell does the J-11B IRST have less gimbal than the base 27? Still good for stealth tracking but I can’t track as off bore as any other flanker.
You could put an additional throttle keybind with a low step value so a quick tap moves it by like 1% (I’m oversimplifying but you should get the point)
chinese bias exists because it is literally a copy paste tree of both US and USSR + its own vehicles so it gets the best of all worlds

what nation relies solely on Derby or Darter?
us as in f16v? (idk about lower tiers like rank 5-6) bru us has the f16 with the better engine. it really aint that special. ussr also has better vehicles than this. literally what about isreal? f15, f16, rafale, mirage 2000. literally NOTHING but copy paste. that thing doesn’t have a single unique vehicle of its own. atleast in air, idk about ground i’m not a ground player. keep in mind greece had the chance to be added with the two seater rafale for a worse flight model. but no, they added the exact same rafale.

i’m multipathing in it, it fires its countermeasures sometimes twice even tho i press it once, i ran out of chaff pretty quickly and started multipathing instead. which isnt something i do, probably why i’m bad at it.
