This looks pretty much perfect! Is that 10.5 based on real values? Just asking because it is then maybe Gaijin would accept it but if it’s just “it feels good this way” I don’t think they will implement it sadly
Also the neutral steering doesn’t look bad to me, unless there is a delay between pressing the button and it starting to move?
A toggle would be really stupid yeah. The most I can imagine is you could select a handling model in the options. But sooner or later people would just realize that regen steering is better, at least I hope so
Looks soooo much better.
Note 10.5 is derived roughly from challenger 1, so it’s in the correct ball park. The actual value is likely closer to 9.5 but neutral steering issues appear at lower values.
Unfortunately the ratio isn’t specified anywhere in challengers manual, not that I have seen anyway.
But we have radius values that can be used. To work out what it should be. Given the PP and transmission have a lot of similarities, I expect it hasn’t changed much if at all.
Well you know how willing Gaijin is to accept bug reports regarding NATO tanks… I fear “Sharing similarities” is not going to be enough, you need to write a whole book about it lol
If regen steering never makes it to the game then people won’t even get a chance to realise how good it is
The majority of people who would vote in a hypothetical poll for this would have never downloaded the dev server to actually test it either, hence why im very much against having a poll for this like we did with the APHE changes
It is as “toggleable” as reversible transmission on T-90M… It just isnt. Haven’t you read the devblog itself that states that most MBTs irl can’t clutch steer?
I am genuinely curious at this point. Have you read the post you commented under?
Your comment explained it perfectly how it should work, with having to change it before a match and stuff.
And yeah I’m also scared about having a poll, a lot of people wouldn’t even have any idea what the vote is about. Luckily I haven’t seen any big content creators telling people to vote No, the ones I saw all liked regen steering.
I don’t get why APHE change wasn’t just added as a new feature in the new update. Devs can easily tweak naval damage models, missile handling in air battles, atgm physics in tank battles, but not aphe? What is so special about APHE that it needs a vote to be tuned to more realistic and interesting parameters than a simplified sphere?
They should have just rolled it out as a feature into the live server, given it a month or so and then if people strongly disliked it they could revert it or change it
The hysteria kicked up by content creators over the APHE changes meant a lot of people never even tested it, they just assumed it would ruin the game and voted no
I’ve done a much better job marketing the differences for Gaijin (using more accurate values) in the last few days than Gaijin themselves lol. It does almost feel like they do not want to put in the effort and trouble to change every vehicle in game.
If you have the time and energy to do so maybe you could test a WW2 tank as well? I’ve seen many people saying that they are more interested in those than modern MBTs.
Maybe a Tiger II or something, I know not many had double differential in that period
I’ll get around it when I have the time but unfortunately I don’t think dev server will stay open long enough for me to test it. Time zone and all that (it’s 12:44am for me now).
Dev closes tomorrow and I got classes for the entire day.
Why. They updated atgm physics, they update aa-missiles rn on the dev, what is so special about aphe that it can’t be updated to more realistic approach?
I just don’t get it, its another part of updates they are doing for years, where they implement new and new cool and more accurate features instead of placeholders.
I thought HE rounds are magical one-shot rounds, huh.
I posted a few videos on Reddit, even the Scimitar comparison, and people liked them. It’s not much but it’s honest work haha Their devblog was absolutely horrible…
