Wishful thinking with F-15C golden eagle

But at least he’ll now be able to see what target we’ve selected and the aircraft’s name. Unlike Jet or Multiteam before.

assuming they actually give it the good NCTR (which the other F15C and F15E should also get)

What hmd use the f15c ge ?

probably JHMCS

which is missing a bunch of features in game

It is JHMCS.

2 or 1

1

However D-JHMCS is being used on F-15EXs in Portland, which still has F-15Cs and is compatible with legacy JHMCS installations, so we may see some D-JHMCS in F-15Cs.

And it’s not like they correctly implemented JHMCS 1 yet anyway, missing a considerable number of features.

As far as I understand, NCTR is a fictional system invented by Gaijin. Because in real life, radar doesn’t show the aircraft model. Unless the transponder is on, of course.

it does, by recognizing the engine blade of aircraft

If it use JHMCS 2 hmd this report could help Community Bug Reporting System

its a real thing

it is much more limited IRL than in game but its real

Question from someone who doesn’t play a ton of top tier: are the 120Cs not actually better than the A/Bs? what are the actual stats?

C’s are better beyond >20 km because while it doesn’t accelerate “hard” like A/B’s do, its thrust and lower drag is optimised for longer ranged shots. The C-5 also has the added advantage of being .4 Mach faster than its predecessors (which, again, doesn’t matter under <20 km as most of those shots taken are usually near deck and either missile will pretty much will top out at Mach 3 anyway)

You can try to get similar results with A/B’s but you’re only marginally gonna get there if you have either the F-15E or Eurofighter for that higher launch velocity.

Good to know, thank you.

What code said is right but the AIM-120A/B also pull harder, especially off the rail. So when you couple that with the better acceleration, it’s easier and faster to hit a target at around 10km with them than it is with the C. Easier for offbore shots too.

The B has a booster engine lasting 1.7 seconds and a sustainer lasting 5.3 seconds. The C has a single-stage engine lasting 7.8 seconds, weaker than the B booster but slightly stronger than the B sustainer giving it more total velocity but less sheer power right away.

SO launch Cs at the start of the match, save the Bs for close range shotgunning, thanks.

Just to add to that, while C’s are better for longer range, it is not by much at all.

One of the CCs I watch ran a few test against both (un-)maneuvering targets. Long story short, in his tests C’s were strictly worse under ~30km under any circumstances - any alt, any target, any anything.
Over 30km their time to target was better by up to a second. Make of that what you will.

i would like to point out this is is pretty much something gaijin made up. aim120c5 should make the aim120a/b completely redundant and useless to bring.

The Cs overall aren’t even that much better at range then the current A/Bs…

Acceleration at iginition (m/s^2):
AIM-120A/B: 150.81
AIM-120C-5: 96.25

Total ΔV [m/s]:
AIM-120A/B: 888.24
AIM-120C-5: 897.39

The AIM-120C-5 takes significantly longer to even reach Mach 4 - 4.4.

The C-5 will be slightly better past 30kms but not by much at all. The A/Bs are overall much better for the games meta.

The whole point of it was to give USA something with an ESA radar… which is what they said they’d do.

I also forgot to comment on this. If Gaijin wanted to give the US a plane with AESA, they literally could have added an F-15E with AESA…

I’ll quote myself from a similar thread:
