Modifications and prototypes are pretty standard event vehicle choices. The Mirage in this event is a perfect example of this.

How about instead of loot boxes you just bring back those vehicles by making them available for purchase (even if only for a limited time). I’m not spending money on these loot boxes.

Im really not o fan of event rewards tied to lootboxen(lootboxes are allready bad and predatory practice) like the icon and sticker why the hell do you think this is a good idea ??? this is something we have to stop or we will have the next boycott/backlash and reviewbombing allready set up for next year.
im ok with sl lootboxen and their rewards. and why are these ge boxes so expensive ???

Vote with your wallet, mate. The more we buy this sort of stuff now, the more GE lootboxes we’ll see in the future, and perhaps even worse.
RNG in exchange for real, hard currency should not just be accepted as a fact of life in videogames. It’s not actually paying for the pfp that I take issue with (even though that price point makes me do aa double take), it’s the gambling element. In a game that has a good chunk of teenagers among its playerbase, I might add.
The more I think about it, the worse it looks.

It’s a shortcut to have this game banned in Europe for sure. If document leaks were not enough for politicians to justify banning the game, gambling with real money for sure is.
In my country it’s forbidden to gamble on sites for people under 18 yo AND outside of domestic sites. So what Gaijin is doing is 100% illegal in my country. :)
(can’t even play poker outside of .cz domains sigh)

The game’s main target audience is young professionals with enough disposable income but not too much time. Events like this are constructed around that philosophy, so I would say you’re experiencing pretty much what they intended - an incentive to dish out some money in exchange for “convenience” and grind-skipping.
It’s clear that the formula works for them. To me it feels that there’s been an overall standardisation of things in War Thunder: events, new map designs etc clearly follow a formula, what they have determined stat-wise that works better for the average player (maps that many players are likely to be ok with, and events that walk the line to provide a monetisation incentive).

Asking for 35k-40k per 2 days is like 2.5-4hrs a day, which is crazy. Good luck sleeping for 2 weeks if you have a job or dont have mom to cook, clean and do dishes for you, let alone anything else that comes up in life
