Gaijin went from doing serious historical collaborations like working on Panfilov’s 28 movie with the Russian ministry of culture to pushing anime style stuff. The game used to lean into history and authenticity with battles actually feeling like WW2 a few years ago and now it sometimes feels like they’re testing how far they can go into gimmicks.

I get that some people like anime, i watched some anime back in my youth too. i’m not against anime itself. I just think the game worked best when it focused on history and the authenticity rather than doing crossover style content like Fortnite or COD games do

IMO I think the way it’s done in War Thunder is way better that COD and Fortnite as I mean in COD its very in your face and there is nothing you can do to not see Homelander vs Snoop dogg for example fight each other with loud effects from them doing take downs, while in War Thunder you can just turn off non historical camouflages and decal’s and after that all you see is a lighting cloud in the kill feed with the Senrai Maiden packs, I find that way more less in your face than the other two games mentioned as stated before were there is no option.

thats the usual part where people get a bit lose and we start getting stuff that your mention that are present in other game
It’s more about where the effort goes, the work put into a collab like Senrai maiden could also have gone into something historical and real instead. We had cool things like Flegel’s or Pokryshkin’s plane and those are great because they’re tied to real history, but we went from that kind of stuff to a vehicle dedicated to a fictional character, it feels very odd to me.

I think we can agree that with all the stuff we get in the year via events, battle passes and updates adding 3 anime tanks isn’t really taking anything away in comparison IMO
Also IIRC the Devs already have everything planned for the year when they go into it so its not like they didn’t make something so anime stuff could come as it was already to planned to come last year.

‘No anime stuff at all, use that resource on others. Exclude anime stuff at the beginning of planning’, maybe?
Some players hate weeb stuff, and contributions spent there are a waste.
Some other players hate infantry mode, and such…

Yeah I don’t understand that logic of you can’t have anything because I don’t like it is crazy and also IMO just screams to me “do what I want or I will kick off” which is just childish
Yeah I understand that, but as mentioned I feel War Thunder has done it way better than COD and other games.

Yeah… that was one of the reasons why I quit playing R6:S… agrees about that.
Just a slight bit of adjustment on the filter would be juicy, though.
Some guys want to see fictional meme decorations, but don’t want to see a body pillow at the same time.
