If they continue to refuse to fix the Aim-120C5, then I hope they add it sooner rather than later, but it shouldnt be needed for a while.

Though if they continue to buff the MICA EM, its the only thing that would allow the Typhoon to be usable in BVR vs a Rafale

Currently there are no equivalents to the MBDA Meteor ingame. There is a possibility with the PL15 being on the leak list but this doesnt confirm its addition. Wait until this friday (maybe) for the dev stream.

I guess 2 years gaijin ready MBDA Meteor, but increase max battle rating to 15.7 for 4.5 gen fighter aircraft

Only when equivalents like rvv-ae-pd, astra mk 3 and other equivalents are added

Aside the fact that, as many pointed out, there is no equivalent in game currently, it would also be quite useless.

They would need to rework the seeker first so those missiles can be potent : see the whole fast accelerating + short range + maneuverable missile (basically MICA) meta there is today

if the “educated guess” is right about the PL-15, then it will be needed,… PL-15 are Aim-120D / Meteor level of threat.

Yes… Unless they do what they’ve done with Aim-120C5s and they end up just being PL-12+ instead of PL-15s.

Heck, are PL-12s even performing correctly? Arent they also artificially limited to be more on par with the Aim-120A rather than Aim-120C5 that I think they might be IRL?

i don’t know about the PL-12

and it’s still Gaijin,… those weapons are most likely to be the highest protected IRL about their Datas,… so everything is possible,…

I just recall from pre-fox-3 speculation that PL-12 was described as being on par to C5s by most.

So take it with a grain of salt, but if true, does raises questions as to what the PL-15 could look like.

Also isnt there an export version of the PL-15 with reduced stats too? Could be PL-15E with nerfed stats to fit a specific performance range they have in mind

200-300km range for 50-80km NeZ (of course those are gross estimations, but last NEZ is the current distance from spawn to spawn in shortest ARB maps,…)

PL-15E have 145km range,… so about 35km NEZ (gross estimations)

anyway all depends on seekers,… as seen with MICA-EM (which i believe could be even better than what they have done with an active ECCM, which aren’t really implemented today)

on this last part, i do believe that PL-15 should behave better than IRL AIM-120C-5

cant see it being needed outside of really big sim and EC maps. ASRAAM and a functional C5 AMRAAM would suffice within the normal situations we see in game
