As far as I know, aim120D is literally a copy/paste aim12-c5, and as you may know, aim120c5 sucks because it has weaker motor than aim120A/B variants, pull less G-load than A/B variant, and is very easy to notch. Aim120D still uses the same motor, same seeker, same everything as the C5 and the “upgrade” it has over the C5 is a better guidance system… that’s it…
I can see this as Gaijin’s attempt to help F18E & F15C GE more competitive at top tier but is this the best they can do? A copy/paste C5? Which is still worse than their earlier A/B variant? The “new” F16 at 14.3 with 6 missile hard points are also another issue, way too high of a BR for a pea shooter of a jet.
So, in short conclusion, No I don’t think aim120D would make a difference at all, just another expensive modification you have to research. But if I am wrong then please correct me because I have not got on the dev server yet and I do not plan to
No. It won’t. If they would’ve given us an F-15EX with 14 of them, maybe.
But it has no HOBS. They’re not giving it any smokeless motor. Or taking into consideration giving it a stronger seeker.
What is the point of adding it if its going to be marginally better than the Aim-120A? I was hopeful it would actually be a buff, but I guess it doesn’t really do much.
Atleast make the C-5s an actual upgrade instead of adding a copy/paste of a later (and even better) model.
