I’ve read that base version of the wiesel had no thermals, it would IMO be pretty fair at 6.7.
probably wouldnt even be 6.7, look at r3 t20, amx 10P, and SUB-I-II
So the only difference would be thermal? Not really enough to warrant a whole new vehicle to need to grind
Well it would be a solution to the problem of germany being one of the few natons that doesn’t have a vehicle capable of high ROF autocannon fire at 6.7 against planes, as things like ostwind 2 and kugelwagen are completely helpless against things like jets with unguded rockets.
However many people have reservations against taking wiesel down to 6.7 because it has third gen thermals, which I completely understand. I would also prefer a different approach, if you know of a vehicle that could be added in it’s stead, feel free to chime in.
Like I said on your other thread rof is not the end all be all for spaa’s the duster and m19 are slow and you can still reliably get kills with them not only that people will be angry if ythey have to grind a vehicle that is exactly the same but missing thermals
even still the wiesel has no buisness at such a high br as the one we currently have, nor does the luches, so we get PBV at lowteir but luches at highteir makes no sence either
Tbh idk why Luchs is in the same BR as Wiesel while Wiesel is mostly better except in crew survivability and no 360 traverse.
The main advantage of Wiesel is the tiny size and scouting capability which allows it to survive by simply being invisible behind the smallest cover. That’ and the APDS is mainly why it’s at 7.0. Removing the thermals I don’t think will affect its effectiveness since it barely needs it anyway.
I wouldn’t mind luchs either to be honest, same as with wiesel there was a model of luchs without thermovision under the same classification as 1A0.
In fact I would prefer to have luchs instead of wiesel as luchs can carry more ammo and has greater vertical guidance limit.

ye move the luches down would be a great alternative in the spaa line instead of it being the same BR as a weisel
I mean feel free to make a suggestion for it. IMO the Kugel is a pretty solid 6.7 SPAA and where Germany more needs SPAA is the 5.0-6.0 bracket, where there’s only the Ostwind II (which is somehow 5.3 when the Ostwind 1 is 3.3, the M42 4.0, and even the Phong Khong is only 5.0)
And a better vehicle for this than some super early Wiesel is the SPz 11-2 Kurz.
