I think that R2Y2 should be replaced with Thai A-37 (along with introduction of original A-37 to the American tree)
Im not reading all that. I am simple man. Give me 3 ww2 japanese made replacements for my 3 ww2 japanese planes.
Replacing Japanese planes for US ones is part of the problem! Not a solution.
This, i’m just getting bored playing War Thunder these days.
We dont get any new gamemodes, we only get C&P vehicles for minor nations, i play the same vehicles over and over again… its really boring at this point.
Like… Look at my beautiful *French 3.7 lineup:
So is adding paper stuff, for all we know r2y2 as it was couldn’t even take off. It’s as realistic as the CL-1201
It had a propeller driven version so it should be able to.
Still not enough to know it could fly. Regardless it’s fake, and removal was the right choice
@quartas121
The ostwind-II is ingame under the trend of: “The stats can be accurately determined because its just an ostwind-I but with an extra gun”.
So the J7W2 can be ingame under the same principle.
That is very different from jet vs propeller.
And where did I say I think ostwind 2 should be in game?
Also, War Thunder isnt historical in the slightest.
Most Russian vessels are fake, a lot of TT vehicles for surtain nations aren’t accurate either.
E.G. Dodging AAM’s with my Me-262, or dogfighting american cold war jets in my WWII prop plane.
War Thunder is the perfect place to test such vehicles out.
Naval operates on different rules, this has been known
And at least those AAM and jets actually existed
I never said, that you said, that the Ostwind-II shouldnt be in the game.
I said:
YOU FORGOR YAKS ARE POWERED BY ALIEN UFO TECH! Everyone keeps telling me they are busted…
Unless it existed irl, then ostwind 2 should be removed, as well as F-16AJ, and Ho-Ri
Most? What can you say of ‘most’? Can you give the list?
I think it should be put in the bar where the premiums are like if you have the Panther II, its at the side and can be researched as a bonus but not required to get to Rank 6
Here’s my take on this subject
The removal of the V1 R2Y2 was an error mainly because there was an actual proposal to turn the failed R2Y1 recce aircraft into a jet attack aircraft and the V1 was what it would look like if it was completed which the R2Y2 was under construction. The V2 & 3’s are more justified to be hidden from the rest of the game since those are “what if’s” aircrafts. Alternatively the V2 & V3 can be replaced with the Ki-201, a another unfinished Japanese prototype jet aircraft, this time a multirole fighter akin to the 262. Other vehicles to fill in that role are the following
- T-33 either from Japan, the Indonesian AT-33 with an expanded loadout or both
- T-1B and/or even the T-1 prototypes since the T-1 prototypes did have different engines from the production models
- OA-37B from Thailand, the T-610 from the Philippines, the S.211 also from the Philippines or all 3 of them
- Ki-202, Japan’s answer to the Me-263
- MT-X & XT-4
Also I don’t entirely trust Gaijin’s word on “Historical accuracy” especially considering that the Flakpanzer 341 (A unfinished prototype with a wooden mockup with plenty of documentation) was replaced with the Ostwind II (A proper fake SPAA with little to no documentation or proof of it other than a website with questionable authenticity citing that is did indeed exist)
I think gaijin should leave a few paper planes in the game, it makes it more unique
I think we should stick to suggestion rules and allow unfinished prototypes. This way we can get more unique and interesting vehicles, but they are still designs serious enough that physical prototyping started in some way.
So by that R2Y2s in game would still be removed (since they are inaccurate designs), but a real R2Y2 with wing mounted Ne-330 engines and only torpedo armament could be added as lower BR fast torpedo bomber.
removes coelian 341 for being “ahistorical/fake”
Proceeds to add 2 fictional tanks (Ostwind 2 and zerstorer 45) in its place
given we have 2 fictional tanks in the german tech tree, we should be able to keep the R2Y2’s
