Why the LMUR and Kh-38 Are Breaking Top-Tier War Thunder

at this point I will just mute you, you cant even read with understanding

Go ahead. One less stupid baised nato player off my list

Is there quite literally any proof that the KH38MT has LOAL capabilities?

Samp can but IRIS doesnt intercept anything these days.

IRIS-T whenever someone shoots at it

It’s in the documentation for the seeker head shared in the locked Kh-38MT topic, you were there to read it…

1.5km LOAL IR seeker is worse than a 15 - 20km IR seeker head we control what gets locked by.

Especially if it works like the IR Hammer where you have to program the specific vehicle you want the missile to target prior to launch [yes, this can result in teamkilling].

Crazy considering my clip was before the irst buff.

Nope there wasn’t.

Yeah we know that the Hammers work like that. We have a detailed overview how an engagement with them works. That 38MTs work the same way is pure sourceless conjecture.

Which buff?

I was pretty active in the kh38mt thread and I don’t remember any evidence for Loal either. The only real evidence ever posted in those thousands of replies was the mte brochure

Yeah found it. The MTE brochure says it can LOAL

i got a dm @Дана_горячая saying much the same, it getting loal based on this should warrant the other stuff from the brochure coming into game, otherwise its just nitpicking.

As a controversial weapon, KH38 has not been nerfed to date.
The number of LMURs is also a Russian bias.

So this brochure that is entirely in English for a Russian weapon system is our evidence for the KH-38MT being in game?

That and another brochure but thats it pretty much.

Where is this lmur going?

It’s a recon missile, Russia is the only one to have it to scout, clearly bias.

The only grunt I really have about the KH38s is their thermals are the best quality while GBU 53s have terrible thermals in comparison. One of the best strengths about the GBU 53s are still missing their MMW radar (~35 GHz) which is the autonomous channel. It detects and classifies moving targets on its own, and because the wavelength is ~8mm, it passes through smoke, dust, fog, and light rain that defeat infrared. I would love to drop these in bad weather above clouds where most spaa shouldn’t be able to detect you.

Shooting KH38s off is the easiest kills I’ve gotten regardless of country but from my perspective the missing capabilities for US is what I don’t like.

Yeah that sounds less balanced than Kh-38 ngl
Especially when you get 20x of them vs 6

it would be very annoying but its still a bomb not a mach jesus missile + russia gets pantsir sm that would intercept them all lol

I didn’t say it was balanced a lot in top tier isn’t but the thermals, speed and ease of KH38s takes a lot less effort than guided bombs with IR capabilities. Don’t get me wrong I just learned to master them but you still need to put yourself at risk more by have a certain speed, drop range, AoA view for bombs and this puts you at risk off spaa.

Overall, they were called stormbreakers for a reason and still good in game but a capabilities nerf compared to russia AoA being any angle with excellent thermals, in supersonic speed with no issues reaching their target in time is still more lethal by a large measure. I barely have to leave far air field.

SM-SV users are braindead in the game only second to German players. The fact they can spawn and wipe everything and use smoke grenades is ridiculous with the speed of their missiles too. Not to mention any premium player now gets free access to spaa near their BR with backups if they need it and takes no skill in knowing how to use.

I’m not a CAS main but they should really balance out the SP again because top tier spaa is too cheap when compared to what it can do. But that’s a whole different can of worms.
