Why substantially buffing the Merkavas mk.4 would benefit everyone

The armor is just pure RNG, you can get one shot from the weirdest most (technically) armoured part of the tank, and then you can also just eat the whole round with little to no damage from a round coming from the side. It’s inconsistent as hell, whereas other tanks have their obvious weakspots but their armoured parts actually do protect.

There’s a bug report that’s been accepted for years that the merks are under armored. Why we gonna sit here and say selective realism is okay? Look what the bmpt is doing with that

Yes, but still doesn’t change the fact Merkavas don’t need a buff infact, one can argue it needs a NERF. Even at MLG events from War Thunder this tank is the one most use cause of its crews low profile but high turret. This forum wants a buff to make their tanks THE tank to play.

What?… that makes no sense. It’s not a crewless turret and no they do not sit lower In the hull .

It’s had nothing but nerfs. The engine has lower protection values now if the ufp wasn’t weak enough. Its ke values for its composites are weaker than rubber fabric screens. And somehow gaijin found a “bug” allegedly with the roof armor and reduced its effectiveness with explosive even though its 200 mm of composite. And also did that around the same time they added the lmur. So yes its had nothing but nerfs actually. The 5 second reload shouldn’t even be questioned. It has an assisted loader for the loader. If anything the merks deserve at least 100 mm more of ke resistance to the armor. Enough to stop 3bm60 to the front of the turret. No reason it’s composites should be weaker than rubber fabric screens

wasnt there a video of the T-64 Non-penning an M-51 from the front IRL?

I actually don’t think its the tank, its the players. Its like german leopard have much lower WR than italy leopard.

Where I actually wanna see it.

Where in my response did I say crew less turret? Come on man reading is hard I know but you have to read. I’ll make it make sense with pictures for you since I know its hard to understand what sitting lower in a turret means.

They sit lower in their turret allowing for my of the rounds to go through and their crew isn’t cluttered up.

Here’s the Big 3 in comparison:

In you’re second statement if you’re getting killed by Helis, CAS with laser guided/TV missiles when you have LWS, APS and Smoke Grenades that’s a genuine grade A SKILL ISSUE. LWS goes off and your first response isn’t to pop smoke and retreat I don’t know what to tell you. Merkavas also have optical detection along with proxy rounds too which most nations don’t like Japan… now your implying it’s struggling when stats from recent months on two sources say it’s performing well or even better? Now for your armor statement, if you’re relying on armor for how you play the game and cannot adapt to a different approach then go play Germany, Sweden, or Russia. Merkavas, USA, Japan etc. have weaker armor but have a lot that makes up for it Merkavas being decked out with all the tech in more than enough to compensate for it’s “armor issues”. Merkava is not struggling and the statics for Japan showing a high win rate proves the Armor isn’t the issue the player is.

Didnt see it

Don’t say that, I said it and got hell for that statement. It will fall on deaf ears. They are surrounded by “superpowers” that field “state of the art technology across the board”. Any other narratives gets you screamed out the room and called all kinds of things lmao.

Had to face one in my Type 90 stock HEAT-fs only… Wanted to skip and go next 🤣.

Seeing it frontally against stock heat rounds makes it a nightmare

Mind you, I’m the guy who got previously a Nuke stock HEAT-FS with I think 11-12 kills (didn’t get to drop I don’t think). So it’s not even me just being bad that day. I own the every Merkava, and looked at the weakspots it’s simply a nightmare to go against stock especially using NATO grade HEAT-FS. Even when I was locked in I got minced.

That 3 crew line up on the Leo is NASTY WORK 😭🤣.

This is with BR 10 Merkava against BR 12.7 Leo at 400 meters which is the most likely encounter apart from close quarters. Shell has 400mm pen.

ALL the way through like butter and don’t get me started on the OTHER big 3 nations at BR 12.7

It’s crazy ngl. The LINE UP, like the Leo is getting a cut.

Nowadays the Leo’s in CQC against KE are a joke kinda. Unless we are taking full frontal snap shots. But even then I’ve seen some nasty snaps on Leo 2s. Not to say it struggles but just an observation.

You know what’s funny. When I use Stock HEAT-FS on the Type 90 or the Free TKX you get sometimes at that BR. I aim for the roof and over-pressure them a lot 🤣. Poor Abrams.

To be fair, they can do it back, but I just don’t think they can do it with that HEAT-OR/MP round weirdly enough… Besides even stock + stock crew I have a 1-1.3 sec faster reload. If we both miss, I win…

Armor is last resort always, it can save you if you make a mistake but shouldn’t be the primary defense. Merkava in Urban envs is lethal. Leos are excellent with the right user and positioning. Understanding tanks strengths and weaknesses else they’re better off playing World of Tanks.
