The thing I find funny about base bombing in su-34
you can have 3 base bombing loadouts:
-
incendiary+regular guarantees a 4.5 (115K base damage) bases + 4 AAMs
-
Grom-2 which guarantees 2 bases + 4 AAMs (you can take more bombs for another 1.5 bases btw in mid-pylons)
-
Grom-1 if it got added, guarantees 1 base + 4 AAMs (you can take 6 Fab-500 for another 1.5 bases btw in mid-pylons)
Stats looking great ?
Now let’s look at the plane itself, the plane is the heaviest top tier jet and is slower than every jet at top tier.
Meaning if you try and use option one, teammates (F15E can take out 3 bases) are far faster than you and can reach those bases before you and in ASB, you are far more likely to die than do anything meaningful
What about option 2 (Grom-2), you go up high, fly to 5000m or 8000m, wait to get within 25km or 31km of the bases, and drop 3 and 3 on each base (next update you get 1 more on center pylon), not counting the enemy Fox-3s coming your way, especially Fakour-90 which can reach you in record time, now you dropped your bombs, you either do 2 things, die and get 2k RP or 4k RP and go next match, or go defensive and try to get kills with your subpar airframe and missiles, ASB try gaining altitude and you will know why Sim is bluefor biased since Fox-3 update.
What about option 3 if it existed, you go 3000m, fire at 40km, get only 1 base, and try fighting or die and get 1.2k RP or 2.4k RP, ASB, yep you can fire safely, return land and get maximum SL and RP because you took off, destroyed a base and landed. The entire reason gaijin removed them
GRB tho, is just weird, whether you dropped Grom 1 or 2, those players staying in place, won’t suddenly start moving for one or another
