if this british empire tank was to get an american designation i do think M3a6 and m3a7 for the ram 1 and ram 2 would have been more appropriate.
well technically so is the sherman. but this is only the gearbox and hull floor, the rest is bespoke.
i like shermans too but find it an insult to the rams individuality to be lumped in with them.

It’s not even that. It’s a name the seem to only exist in docs after the US stopped testing the Ram I (they call it “Canadian Medium tank” in footage found, and from what I found, the “late” Ram II got after the war was called a Ram II.)
Tho what’s really bad(after the major misinformation spread by the name) is even if it can be proven that M4A5 wasn’t ever meant to be used, the fact that it won’t be fixed under “that’s what the US would have called it” means: Host tree > Operator nation for vehicle names.

It only took 11 years for gaijin to correct the preproduction and production tiger 2 names so we may see it get its name corrected before 2030.
hopefully wont be neccessary with a commonwealth tree removing it from the US (snorting powdered copium rn)

It never kills the crew. It never disables the enemy tank. It never 1 pops anything, ever. Tank loses every 1 vs 1 while being penned from anywhere by 40 mm AA gun.
Takes 3, 4, 5 shots to kill. Meenwhile the Sherman at 3.7 1 pops anything it pens. How is it fair? What advantage does an AP round give in any way?

The round is dud. Gaijin knows. Its easy to see why after 10 years this is what we got
The 57 is one of the better british guns for low tier. Much better than the british 75.
Of course aphe is better but you should still be able to work it well enough.
Being less shiz than other shiz doesnt make it any better lol
Again, it is not the best round but it is very much workable if you know how to aim it.
I do not have the ram but i did take out the cromwell at the same br. I didnt have any problems with the gun. The only bounces were from me hitting awful shots.
Ram at 3.0.is fine. Takes 3 rounds to.kill pz shooting turret in test drive
Premium Ram at 3.7 takes 4 rounds to kill same vic.
If there wasnt an issue there wouldnt of been a vote…
Aim center mass. If you cant, hit the gunner’s side then either wait for the gunner to be replaced or move to a better spot.
It is taking me 1-2 shots per kill. Panzer 4 is usually one of the easier ones to deal with since you can just center mass them and one shot.
The issue isnt AP doing too little damage. Its APHE doing too much.
I just wont use it or anything else similar. Maybe its the HE that is over performing. Either way AP is pure shit and offers no benefit yet gets the same BR.

Im aiming at same place in both tanks. Maybe the turret is all you can aim at in game.
I ran it once and it showed what 100’s of bounces/ hits i dont see using other tanks/ ammo had already confirmed
If you are aiming AP like its APHE, that is where your issue lies.
It seems like you got used to the death sphere of APHE.

I have been playing a lot of m8a1, breda 501 and sav 20.12.48 for the grind event so my aim was not used to the 57. You can see me just throwing some shots out because my mind assumed i would auto pen everything lol

Nearly every kill was 2 shots and in the side… and thats knowing where to aim lol
Using anything that isnt AP - there was so many shots that would of been 1 pops.
To be fair, outside of t34 and m4, you actually want to face tanks head on.
Side shots tend to be worse for AP.
Yeah, APHE has its death sphere. Imo, APHE currently hurts players since it teaches them to shoot at anything exposed.
Once they switch to something with AP or weaker APHE, they are caught off guard.
At least you are going through the british tanks now. I went through them back before the AP got buffed. Pre-French AP was truly painful to use.
