probably the fact the 2A72 has absolutely 0 Support for the barrel except by the breech, unlike BMD-4/BMP-3 which have a small collar at the tip to keep it inline with the 100mm
with 2A72 being very light it isn’t great at retaining accuracy for multiple shots

Sadly, pretty much this. NATO auto cannons have way, way, way, way higher gun dispersion than they should. Especially Oerlikons and the modern ones. They also overheat MUCH faster than they should.
Which aligns with NATO armor on IFVs. Somehow vehicles like the PUMA, Namer and co use WW2 materials “rolled homogenous steel” and can be penned by 50cals in some areas. Which is completely absurd when their armor should easily withstand APFSDS at 30mm. Instead even regular APDS just casually pens them.
Which they shouldn’t. Not only do Russian ones tend to have a higher ROF often times. They’re also vastly more inaccurate IRL.
So now we have a situation where NATO vehicles basically use Russian guns, except they’re artificially nerfed to NATO fire rates. Then they get slapped with absurd overheat that has no justification.
It’s similar for the armor. Somehow the PUMA and some other NATO vehicles basically use “steel” according to Gaijin. So they’re big, heavy, slow, and have no armor regardless. Because many BMPs have no armor. The PUMA can literally be 50cal’d from the back. When it should have quite thick composite armor there. Same for the sides. It was build to withstand 30mm APFSDS without setting the NERA elements off. Instead even regular 30mm APDS/APHE can often times pen it. Fairly sure Namer is in a similar spot.
Irl they are high tech with all that data linkage you would want, don’t overheat, have working AHEAD ammo, working spikes etc.
Also their aps works irl and they are very mobile

Plus with all the cool add on armor options for RU tanks, they could not be bothered to give german players the option to strip off the add on armor of the puma for more speed/agility….

Oh yeah. Basically.
Basically they artificially nerf stuff like the PUMA, Namer, and quite a few other vehicles. Hell even the Oerlikons are massively nerfed. They should be super accurate but in game they just aren’t.
She’s very good up to 7.7, but from then on, with the exception of the first AMX 30 8.0 which is good, you’ll struggle until you can get to the Leopard 2A4 or MSC. From my experience, I recommend going for the OP MSC. After that, there are the Leclercs, which are terrible in stock, but after you get the modules, they become excellent tanks: good mobility, good gun, reloading will help you a lot, good thermals, and sometimes you’ll take a few hits that at most will kill one of your crew because the vehicle is hollow in the middle, but is a good tank, i like it, it is comfortable to use. I still have to finish getting all the modifications for the Azur and S21, and get the SPAA and buy the Mirage F1, maybe to get the Rafale.
i only said it wasn’t a good nation because i hear it was bad. people who dislike france to people who do like france (as a WT nation to grind) is ~2:1 from my POV
They probably don’t like it because of the AMX30 or Leclerc; those tanks really don’t have armor, but Leclerc is far from bad.
you can only use the tracker/IRST on certain vehicles while scoped in, this would apply to any vehicles that isn’t an AA
Were you perhaps trying to do it in 3rd person?
France top tier ground vehicles suck
Leclerc has paper armor and no pen. Don’t even try grinding the Leclercs after the initial one, you’ll just be slower, no additionnal pen, and same armor basically. I don’t even understand why those 4 Leclercs are all at 12.7
Tiger helicopters have less good than russian and american counterparts (thank God we have an american one at 13.0)
Spall liners and spikes on the ebrc jaguar don’t work
9.3 vbci can’t pen top tier russian mbts sides, really struggles to pen anything tbh, even barrels. 9.7 VBCI 2 has the useless bushmaster, too slow, can’t pen anything from the front
12.0 spaa is the ito, meaning no guns at 12.0, only missiles. Russians once again advantaged
12.7 AA is good, but can’t win a game against 12.7 GRB Russia because of the LMURs / su-30 / bmpts spams
We don’t have the 2a7, only 2a6 (so this is bad)
The only good thing about top tier France are the jets. But that’s it. Not competitive. Very sad

I would say it’s more I love the challenge of making non meta vehicles work because where’s the fun in just playing the same things other people play……
