Why are the laser rangefinders a tier 4 modification on NATO tanks, but a tier 2 modification for USSR tanks? some examples are as follow
I believe all tanks should have similar modifications, or atleast have all the NATO tanks have their LR moved to tier 2, as its quiet annoying to have to grind stock without LR for so lomg

so are we just cherry picking data today? because israel, italy, japan, and france all have tier 2 lws/lr modifications at 12.0
in fact there are more nato MBTs with LWS/lr as a tier 2 mod than there are russian tanks with it as a tier 2 mod
i mean its not even a rank 4 mod for american 12.0 mbts
still no explanation to why almost all soviet tanks get it at tier 2, using the averages, its found in t3 or t4 for majority of NATO tanks, but for soviet tanks, its almost all at tier 2.
I do hope youre not counting all 11 12.0 leopard 2s separately for that calculation, because really thats the only argument you have going for you

the only real outlier I see is the UK (clearly UK suffers /s), as the truth is gaijin uses it as a very minor balancing factor, and the leopards are the best MBTs in the game right now, so they get punished a little bit to make up for it.
you cant compare nato to russia in warthunder, especially for this example because when you do youre comparing 3 tanks vs 25 tanks (11 of which are leopard 2s) this makes for an extremely unfair comparison, as one group has 8 times as much data as the other (or about 5 times as much if you exclude the 11 leopards)
when you want to make an argument like this what you should do is say
“why do 6/10 of the nations in warthunder get lws/lr as a tier 2 mod at top tier, what about the other 4 nations?”
I still stand to my initial argument, they should move the LR to a lower tier or increase it to t4 for all tanks, its not fair

your initial argument is built of the false assumption that the reason for such a thing is bias, but the real reason is balance (sure through a weird gaijin way, but still out of balance, except for the challenger 2s), and it is fair, the better the tank, the more you gotta work for it (except the aforementioned challenger 2s rip them)
Why do Challengers have thermals at rank 2 meanwhile my other vehicles have it at rank 3, it’s bias for sure.
fr, and we all know the real reason russian tanks get rank 2 lws/lr and rank 2 thermals is because gaijin didnt want to make the modification screen bigger

Smoke grenades are tier 3.
Honestly laser range finder at tier 2 is not good because it forces you to choose between it and Adjustment of Fire or Improved FPE and you end up needing 3 mods before moving to tier 3 mods anyway.
