many Leopard 2A4s were capable of using the DM33 APFSDS round, and DM33 was introduced around 1987, during the Leopard 2A4’s service life. Sources on the Leopard 2A4’s ammunition list DM33 as one of its compatible kinetic rounds.
Leopard 2A4 + Rh-120 L/44 gun can fire DM33.
DM33 was an improvement over earlier rounds such as DM13 and DM23, offering better penetration.

Armament is a balancing decision based on reality. The Leopard 2A4 could use DM33, so its the developers discretion to whether they add it or not. DM33 would likely make it go up in BR where its armour would not be good.

Ariete (P) 10.7 BR does have DM33
Ariete (P) is worse tank overall.

If I remember correctly Ariete has all ammo in hull unlike Leopard taking 16 shells and having no ammo in hull greatly increasing survailability

It shouldn’t probably get dm33 but it should be at 10.0 as from the front it needs to aim for weak spots on tanks such t-72b and t-64b which are at 10.3 and get 3bm42 which pens 454mm at 100 meters compared to dm23 for the L/44 which pens 407mm at 100 meter.
Russian t-72b and t-64b get 3bm42 which pens 454mm of armor plus they have better armor compared to the leopard 2A4.
Sure, but 2A4 has mobility to dance around them and fight hulldown.
Pen wise 2A4 is fine, what it needs is its reload speed to be reviewed.
Okay but if you look at the leopard 1a5 which has dm33 which pens 419mm at 100 meters which is 12mm more pen then the 2A4’s dm23 at 1.3 br lower it’s kinda of a downgrade.
Now look me directly into the eye and tell me you think Leopard 1 and Leopard 2 are the same platform.
Leopard 1 gets good shell because just like ariete, its effectively a glass cannon.
The t-72b also gets f’d up by Leo 2a4 if it decides to snipe hull down, it has a very pathetic scope with 8x zoom at 10.3 while Leo has 12x and also having thermals. Not to mention the Leo has 1500 HP engine which their mobility is night and day difference in comparison lol the t-72b sucks. You will have more issues with turms-t or t-80ud as they both has 12x scope and aim much better than that useless t-72b that is a one dimensional fighter.
Your right but I feel like it should be at least moved down or add Leopard 2A4V as it gets more armor.
