It’s really not that bad considering the sheer number you can get. Not nearly as strong as straight up fire and forget no, but spamming munitions and pop-up tactics are about the only sure way to kill Pantsirs. Would definitely however like to see the IOG be improved to no drift if possible, but eh.
Against anti tank duties, yes it’s very slow. But I mainly play CAS to waste my time trying to kill SPAA instead, which makes this weapon type quite interesting. I know, pretty useless to the team, but it’s fun.
Given how the models are already in the game, we might see them appear quite soon. I mainly want more GNSS + SALH weapons, JAGM-F isn’t quite it yea (neither is Brimstone), but they can be used in a similar fashion. Idk if we will actually see the IIR modelled on the GBU-53, would be too insane with the count you get.
This is mostly just me being frustated with Gaijin refusing to add LJDAMs to more US planes though. I don’t know why the hell it is made so artifically rare.
There is a bug report in for Brimstone to massively reduce its IOG drift. Hopefully that will mean it will become a Psuedo GPS guided weapon but at the moment, there is a push to try and get GPS or GPS+SAL Spear-3s on the Typhoon.
Right, that exists too. Would like to see more pictures of it IRL though, I have I think only seen one, somewhere posted in this forum (I will need to find it again…). But it seems otherwise very rare, so it might not be enough evidence to add (to multiple planes at least). GBU-53s on the other hand seem more common instead, so that’s a lot easier to prove.
I know, but Gaijin does not operate on such logic (they rather operate on whatever the hell they want). So hence, why the rarity of proof may hold it back from being added at all. At least I haven’t myself had any luck finding imagery of it, but I know there’s at least one on this forum, so I’m looking for it again rn.
It still would make US helis worth grinding if they added them and it also states “Compatible with all JAGM users platforms,” so it may be hypothetically possible to put on fixed wing.
because JAGM-F has differnt aerodynamic design to work better from a fast moving aircraft, while JAGM-MR/JAGM is meant to fire from slow moving stuff like helicopters and ground launchers
But it’s still theoretically possible, as they say it’s compatible with all JAGM users’ platforms and for warthunder’s sake, A 16km IR missile is something we already have in the game. They would need to just limit the amount you can take like 8 max. Plus it didn’t stop gaijin adding the KH38mts that have no evidence of being test-fired or even existing at this point.
Found it again, and actually a bit more. However it technically does not prove its compatibility (purely from imagery) that things like A-10, F-16, F-18 can carry it though (but of course logically almost 100% certain).
F-15E:
Though apparently ex F-15SE, so it might not be quite proof enough for Gaijin. Its use in conjuction with normal SDBs (on same BRU-61 rail) should be pretty convincing though. Especially when we already know pretty much all planes can already use SDB-II.
MQ-9:
Can be seen in this video (youtube), the covered SDBs are almost certainly Laser SDBs.
Of course Gaijin probably will still require images of it mounted on the planes we actually have. In which case only maybe the F-15E can get it based on this.
