Why is there no F/A-18 in the strike line?

@ItzMikeyzWRLD-psn
lol F-14’s is no where near 21 degrees per second except clean on minimum fuel [which F-18C in WT can’t match in fuel amount due to the restrictive 30%] and it still doesn’t get there.

Oh, you’re not going to like this. 60% fuel in F-18C is 6 minutes on full AB, to match that in F-14B we need to fill its tanks to… 5915kg of fuel, 80% of the fuel tank.
17 degrees per second, over 2 degrees per second slower than F-18C.

Spoiler

Okay, maybe we should match the minimum fuel… 3 minutes of full AB; 2930kg of fuel for F-14B, 40% full.
18.3… not even the 19.2 listed let alone 20 on dev server of F-18C.

Spoiler

F-14 is incapable of supercruising, it has never done so and never could.
Hornet goes mach 1.02 on dry thrust clean at altitude, F-14 could never do that.

It’s funny how your post moves the goalposts to “must be internal fuel only” after the previous claim being proven incorrect.

  1. You’re tests aren’t using flaps, which is what makes the F-14s competitive dogfighters.
    As we can see, the F-14 can get up to massive sustained turn rates.

    Compared to the F/A-18C Late:

    It’s not even a contest. Especially at higher speeds the F-14 is literally lapping the hornet’s turn rate. This coupled with the speedbleed will spell disaster for the hornet

Nope
On the other hand, the F-14 should be able to (barely), but I’m not at my PC to check.

Moving goalposts? Really? We went from talking about real life to warthunder. Pick one.

Edit: I’m down to keep this convo going but (admittedly) this is very far off-topic. We’ve hijacked this topic🙃

@ItzMikeyzWRLD-psn
First off, statshark only allows for clean loadouts due to lack of drag input, so for anything other than clean loadouts you have to do an in-game test.
Secondly, I can tell you didn’t input fuels correctly.
5 minutes of AB fuel for the F-14B and F-18C.

Spoiler

And combat flaps F-14B loses even more.

Spoiler

F-14 has higher speed bleed [lower STR].

I did min fuel for my tests. Which is the more realistic way of doing it.
In both tests, you started the F-14 behind. Show your settings and “the correct way” of inputting fuel values.

No?? First STR isn’t really about speedbleed, and second, the F-14 is one of the best-rate fighters in the game. How are you coming to these conclusions and why is it because the F/A-18 Hornet is your favorite aircraft?

this thread got off track, the F/A-18 for the Navy replaced the A-7 and for the Marines replaced the F4S so really it should be in the attacker line with the A variant before the AV8B plus and the C variant after it.

Put the Super Hornet in the F-14 line.
