I have been playing war thunder for quite some time now and I am currently researching the T-90M and I just got the T-72B3A but it sucks compared to the T-72B3. The T-72B3 sits at what I think is a perfect br of 11.7 with the most powerful russian cannon in the game with an apfsds penetration of 578mm and it also has 3rd gen thermal, and it has the additional extra era packs on the side giving it upward of 750mm of protection with just era! So if you are looking for a tank that you might like that is in USSR, I totally recommend the T-72B3 for any player.

B3A is just a lineup filler that you only bring in emergency situations, I’m assuming. I have it sitting in my 12.7 lineup along with T-80BVM, T-90M, BUK, Mi-28NM, 2S38, 2S6, etc. You’d never just do a 12.3 lineup for the T-72B3A, you’d just slot it in 12.7. And even then some prefer just slotting in another T-80 for backup. I like bringing it because there may be some situations where a tank with APS is required (some mad dog with an AFT09, or other ATGM).
You’re totally right about 11.7, though, and not just for USSR but others such as Britain. It’s all in a really good place right now.
The round is nothing spectacular at 11.7 when it’s available as early as 10.3, and Israel and USA has 3bm60 equivalent at 10.0, the most powerful ru mbts in terms of firepower and FCS in its respective br imo is the T-90 at 11.0, their T-72 variants persistently got worse the higher you go.

Yeah, i really like the t90a for its top tier (russian at least) round at 11.0 also the sprut at 10.0 is shooting the 125 mm 3bm60, but at one point i guess its just overkill, still nice to have.
The us 3bm60 equivalent youre talking about is the m900 dart fired by the m1128 i guess? and while i agree that it is a very good round especially at this br, with (almost) top tier performance, its penetrator weights 3.8 kg. the 3bm60 dart is clocking in at 5.2 kg. Thats a big difference. But yeah m900 is still top notch.
EDIT: Just checked and Damn, the M322 dart of the sabra at 10.0 just dwarfs them all. 588mm flat pen on a 5.6 kg penetrator. argh i dont wanna grind israel. or do i? fml
I’d rather play USSR 10.3-10.7 for the better lineup support, especially Strela/Osa/2S6. But I do need to grind out the Israeli ground tree because I’ve ground out the air tree and have hardly touched their ground. I did buy the Merkava Mk.2D, so I should just get around to doing it sooner than later, lol.
Merkavas really look interesting, as well as some of the other really strong tank israel have (magach hydra is very good and fun and namers look very interesting to play as well as zachlam tager which is obviously op af /s) im just not sure im mentally prepared to grind through 15 m60 chassis to get there. and barely have any lineups bigger than 2 vehicles

M900 is a worse 3BM46 due to lack of velocity, USA’s 3BM60 equivalent at 10.0 is the M60 AMBT’s KEW, and Israel’s Sabra has M322 also at 10.0, both are end game darts. Spading the Merkavas 4 has never been easier since it has M322 unlocked right out of the dealership lol that round is so strong and overkilled at 10.0, and don’t forget the USA also has end game dart M829A1 at 10.3
oh i see u meant those. well barely anyone has got the m60 ambt which is lacking a lot in mobility and armor department i guess? But yeah those rounds at that br have to be quite insane if not overkill for almost every target.
I would say go for it if you enjoy the M60, they literally have the best version of M48/M60 in the game.

Their 11.3 line up also very good with two light tanks that comes with gun depression cheat, the entire vehicle is an empty box to get hit from the sides and nothing happen, then finally Merkavas 4 which I would rate them being the third best MBT in the game, a little under Abrams M1A2.

except for the side era kit missing for the B3A, its the same tank. maybe you are talking about the br difference. but the tank is good at 12.3 with aps, no heli can touch you

12,12.3 all are just thrown into 12.7+ lobbies anyways.
Why even run with a 12.3 loadout? There’s no incentive when you’re fighting higher BRs what feels like 99% of the time.

The Israel 10.0 lineup is great along with the Ayit and the 9.7 heli has thermals.
The top br lineup is also great when paired with the ah-60, barak and the Ra’am
But I hope you like playing the Magach 😂
stock you’re basically just a T-72B (1989), but against much better enemies. UBH mod that adds the better engine & armour comes in as a tier 3 mod i think, so its a slog to get the upgrade, and even then its not a stellar option
i hope so too, its basically THE requirement for playing israel right?
