Why is the Su-34 at 13.7 on Dev?

The Su-30MK2 being added at 13.3 meant the J-11A also went down to 13.3. Whether or not that initial decision should stand is not the topic of discussion. Why is a Flanker that is way heaver with no HMD at a higher br? I do not think PESA and the option to carry 2x more R-77’s or more R-27ET’s makes it a better jet when you look at the major flaws that are inherit with the Su-34 platform.

I know this is subject to change, I still felt the need to point this inconsistency out

It has more missiles and a better radar.

What we really need is decompression, because 12.7-14.3 can easily be decompressed up to 16.0.

We could definitely use more decompression, but that’s for a different topic. The Su-34 is by all means not a great fighter and the performance is really not adequate for 13.7. It is a fighter-bomber so it is expected to be not the best, but it was 13.3 before which wasn’t an issue, it isn’t exactly a big threat.

Considering how things is going, Su-34 will always be a step or two behind from top tier regardless. It is, Su-34 is a top notch striker airplane, despite ground strike not being too much prominent in air realistic battles it really makes a difference in air simulator battles.

Yeah, it really got overshadowed by the Su-30SM unfortunately, Gaijin could do things to bring it up in usefulness like give it the targeting pod the Su-30 has or R-77-1’s, maybe the dual racks under the belly. Just something.

It’s not overshadowed but rather hyperestimated; Kh-38MT being the main cause and Kh-38ML pushing behind is the main reason I see for it being such high battle rating regardless of the battle rating, on top of that no other airplane with decent radar and R-77 is lower than battle rating 13.3 (MiG-29SMT for reference), which despite this I highly doubt it will ever going to lower battle rating until removal of some of its weapons or a nerf to its airframe justifying a battle rating change.

Ground ordinance has no bearing on air battle rating. I could maybe see the argument of good radar and a lot of missiles being an argument if the platform itself was competitive as a fighter, which the Su-34 just isn’t. It is incredibly heavy and lacks an airbrake, asking for a nerf is silly.

the better question is why is SU-30MK2 being added at 13.3 when by almost all metrics it should be 13.7

It definitely should be 13.7.

If ground ordnances haven’t no effect then its battle rating would be lower, yet I think it’s considered, I mentioned a nerf in the way to justify a lower battle rating, given that Su-34 is better than MiG-29SMT in other aspects than ground attack, the reason why it’s clear.

Which honestly I’m surprised, I wasn’t expecting a premium airplane carrying top tier weapon and on top of that not being top tier, the reasoning that the radar is not competitive is just so bold, R-77-1 doesn’t have much difference from R-77 but yet there’s, I’d rather have an platform limited to only R-27 with actual good radar than one with a bad one but with better weapons, given that it’s active radar homing missile, the track is only required, in most of the time the radar itself won’t be used other than to search and track a target to launch.
