Why is the Stormer HVM so bad?

1.8km plus is my rule atm.

So it is fixed already? If no i dont even log in.

Currently it works extremely well, no more phasing through aircraft providing your ping isn’t over 90/100. But it doesn’t work well against aircraft under 1.8km.

So when is the ridiculous lock on problem getting fixed?
Because being unable to lock an Su-25 until 1.5km away when it is not even in the clouds is absolutely fucking absurd.

That’s what i call f**k it and send it time and manually aim a pray XD

I think the words you’re looking for are spray and pray.

the starstreak has a very high velocity, especially compared to ingame SAMs, which makes it highly susceptible to desync issues. my average and median ping is ~240, which makes it almost unusable.

More like that, the fact it splits into 3 and no proxy. There is for example a Pantsir that has a faster missile but has no problems with desync.

In game it’s 300ms slower than it should and is slower than the pantsir missile. Not denying it’s the problem but just saying it’s not fast.

Well, it's semi-true. It's fastest missile in first 4km. However, in the context of stormer, not ahmk1, it doesn't mean much. This is even more like a disadvantage for stormer, because of this speed it is very difficult to correct the missile at close range. You just don't have enough reaction time.

Is the stat card wrong then or just shows the mean speed?

No problem with desync for who? desync is not a uniform problem.

the speed of the starstreak is classified, but the latest version is supposed to be faster based on reports that it has a burnout speed in excess of mach 4. the impact speed should be similar for the 2 given the worse BC of the 95Ya6. the starstreak projectiles fly in a ~1.5m radius, which is far smaller than the 9m proximity fuse of the 95Ya6.

Max speed in stat card. Same as G-overload. So the stat-card tells us very little about the actual behavior of the missile.

That’s the burnout speed, the impact speeds should be similar if gaijin models ballistic coefficients. the speed of the starstreak is also an estimation, the base version is stated to be in excess of mach 3, the newer versions in excess of mach 4.

The documents gaijin use state a speed of Mach 3+ with others saying close to Mach 4 where has in game even the old stat card stated exactly Mach 3 and the was reduced in a recent update. Maybe we could argue for the newer missiles but even then gaijin might just take the lower value. Do we have the exact speed and or delta v from the files for the star streaks?

The statcard number is mach 3.278 assuming a speed of sound of 343.2 m/s.

Fuck, I think I’ve been miss reading this entire time then…. How fast is the pantsirs missile then to be even faster than that?

Remember for speed of missiles you probably can read them very easily with the new sensor mode in the replays

Haven’t even tried looking at it yet, I thought it was more for air than ground.

I believe it works for all missiles
