Why is the Stormer HVM so bad?

Also Rapier appears to literally have zero pressure damage

RBS70 has the red sphere of pressure damage but the Rapier doesn’t

Haven’t checked but im also guessing that the fragments from RBS70 can go through parts of the plane to hit stuff behind the area of impact and the Rapier missile doesn’t do the same, right?

I have no idea on either, but I wouldn’t be surprised if both were true. It would explain the inconsistent damage

Hm, for the RBS-70 one reads about its 1.1 kg warhead with 3,000 tungsten spheres and shaped charge, for the Rapier a blast fragmentation warhead (1.3kg) is mentioned everywhere.

Could be that the different warhead specifics are taken into account, and those may have a stronger impact here than warhead mass itself?

Maybe, but still, something isn’t right. As Beautiful Taiwan pointed out, no overpressure and probably low pen spall too. Something isn’t right.

The result is that I’ve hit a light heli in the cockpit 3 times before and done bugger all, took a 4th to kill it and by then it had rippled rockets off at me and killed me too

IRL the Rapier Mk.2 missile had a Single Shot Kill Probability of 90%. From what I’ve heard the probability of a single missile killing the target is quite a bit lower than that in game?

I have one shot things plenty of time, but i would have to say the average is 2 missiles per target and I’m always ready to send a second or even a third at the target.

It’s really inconsistent

you’ll one shot an su 25 and then take 5 missiles to take out an alouette in the same game, literally happened to me.

I think that the Heli I hit in the cockpit 4 times

there was a tu95 in one of my matches, i shot my entire magazine. 2 crits the rest was essentially no damage

I just tested it now, rapier does only have weak fragments that don’t go through stuff while RBS70 has strong fragments that will go through things
