How long has that been pending? A week now?
2 weeks, that is why when i wake up i will try to do something with it.
Poor bastard.
Maybe i will get another denial for lack of a information, on a missile that got its first kills in ukraine. A MODERN CLASSIFIED MISSILE. Yea, getting info about it is tad hard. Things like g pull cant be found, only guessed.
Do we know:
A: the size of the fins?
B: the angle of attack of said fins?
C: whether the fins are separate?
D: rolling turning (like Magic, AIM-54C, AIM-120C+)
A Can be pixel measured, missile has 76mm diameter, 1,3m lenght
B IDK
C IKD, well it has 4 fins, all 4 working, depending on the rotation they take needed roles
D Spins like stinger ect, but the seeker and control surfaces have a bearing that makes them stay in place or spin much slower
This is my point, if they can assume the stats of a round that hasn’t even gone into service or have its stats known. (2s38 sabot round) or how they assumed on the stingers despite evidence on them having a higher g pull directly quoted from a direct source. I don’t see why they can’t make assumptions on a missile we know the weight of and the size of its control surfaces……
I mean even with only 10Gs it would be okay ish since it’s mouseguided and the speed of >1.5 mach is also nothing bad
What i gave in my suggestion is 35g. Seems reasonable to me to match it to simmilar missiles, but i might have to tune it down :/
Also on another note
Apperantly some Javelins were upgraded with the starstreaks guidance system which could make them viable as a lower tier guided Missle aa when we don’t get out tracked rapier, which is badly needed at this point
Yea, LMM also uses the smae LOSBR guidence as starstreak, that is why they can be fiered from the same launchers without much preparation
@Smin1080p Greetings to you on this beautiful day.
I dont know if you remember that talk, but after it i made the suggestion, and i have a question for you. Can you see pending suggestions, and if so can you tell me what do i need to provide and/or change for it to be accepted? I think i got all the relevant data that is publicly avaiable.
So like how the Aspide works?
So it is like the bang-bang control or what?
Nevermind. Watched the video. That is strange.
Im not sure how aspide works
I dont know if it is pid or bang bang (i would say pid as it is a modern missile), but the seeker and the fins have are connected to the rest of the missile using a bearing, so the fins does not spin as fast as the rest, even not spinning at all
The Aspide has 4 separate control servos for all 4 of the fins. The Sparrow and SF have 2 motors and as such it is less manoeuvrable.
Why even spin the missile if the guidance is stabilised against it? The stinger has the 1D movable canards and uses rolling motion to move.
Yes, LMM works like that.
Dont ask me, im not the one making it
The good news with Tracked Rapier is we can equip the Mk1E (given its the correct timeframe) so we can have a proxy fuse
Nice maybe a useable SPAA
might be. trouble is it would have absolutely no assistance in tracking. no radar, no IR sights, just optical tracking. and it’d still be player guided
in that sense, the lack of thermal sights (at least, that i’m aware of) would make it worse than the Strela or Ozelot. Not to mention the mobility was… sub-par by all accounts
