And there’s half your problem. In a couple of years, when the Stormer has been unusuable for a reasonable amount of its time in game, and even less usable for people who don’t have lightspeed internet (yes, i’m aware Fibre Optic does actually work close to lightspeed, no, not everyone has it)
It leaves a fairly large gap in capabilities, which we have to fill in using aircraft for air defence or we have to use gun platforms. Neither are desirable outcomes.

And not everyone has planes for those BRs I’m bringing a prop to those BRs.
I mean the Chieftain Marksman is usable but it definitely isn’t up to par and leaves something to be desired.

Does that thing have stealth belts by any chance. I swear you can increase it’s effectiveness (all spaa) by making your wifi lag, it’s so funny
We write the year 2030, the Stormer HVM has finaly been fixed and is now britains best spaa. In the meantime Ussr is celebrating the addition of the Tor M2, China gets their long desired wish pantsir the F-2000k and Sweden as well as Germany are receiving their IRIS-T missle carriers which start to completly deny the enemy air space

Looking at its modification cards I don’t think so. I get APDS tho… (Can’t want to “Shell Shatter” on planes)
I do to be fair bring Jets, but even then it’s a chore. We don’t exactly have tonnes of dedicated A/A aircraft with good missiles, flares, the whole nine yards (with the exception of the Harrier GR.3, and the FRS.1 early?), and throw in some Tunguska spamming missiles at you everytime you come near the battlefield basically makes you redundant. There’s little you can do
The Marksman is a pretty horrid SPAA. Only saving grace is APDS belts. but the radar drift (which is intended so i’m told) makes it pretty horrid as an SPAA. ZA-35 would be my pick, and even thats not ideal, especially when you’ve got Walleyes, and LGBs to deal with.
The only real saving grace in the support department is we do get the Jag GR.1A with some GBUs of our own. Too bad there’s only 2, and it’s one of the worst airframes at 10.3 to get it on.
you’ve missed the bit where Russia got its S-400 and the US got its Patriot PAC-2 Air Defence systems.
s300 and dvina are already in the files apparently
tried to keep it to standalone vehicles, besides that pretty much anyone would get either of those systems
The lynx’s are very good too. They carry for me when I play 10.3
maws on the ka-52 is UV based, it detects the missile already from the launch.
Im not going to go too deep into that, but starstreak darts does not have a motor, so it makes it hard for UV maws to identify them.
How do you think the missile launches out and propels into speed? The missile would already be detected at launch instead of in flight.
Yes it detects that, but the heat trace from the carrier dissapears, that is why the system of maws has problems with them, it sees a missile dissapear and has to look for it. Darts by themselfs does not heat up that much, making the system job even worse. It can detect launch, but then it has to deal with missile going blank, untill darts are close enough for their heat caused by air friction to be detected. In close distances then yea it will, but over 5km the system will have problem while missile will just go there.

All the system needs to do is detect the launch to warn the user. It does not need to locate the missile. It will warn the user about a launched missile. That is the job of missile approach warning system.
Another thing is ir clutter, but it does not affect UV sensors as much as ir but ignore that. If it detects it depends of multitude of factors. Starstreaks are knows for making it hard for maws to detect, and when they are detected, ejection is still your only way, as the missile will go to you exact location very quickly.
A missile launch would absolutely stand out, the annoying thing about maws is when friendly launches also trigger the system.
And with a fast missile like this, yes the helicopter would probably be dead anyway.

You would be suprised how much clutter the earth can provide by itself. It probably will stand out, considering the carrier burn for 2s iirc, but it can be filterred out in hot enviroments. As i said it depends on multitude of things, and you are ded anyway (unless it phase your heli, then you get a skill issue from the stormer commander on the all chat and you have to pay sl for the fix (joke))
