Cuz they have different rwr system and the one on the f14a just suck.
U canβt tell the difference between rwr and radar?
because ancient technology of early ALR-45
havent know it till now thanks alot, i was thinking that it was all part of the radar
2 reasons.
Tornado was designed to be an interdictor and so having a very capable RWR is highly valuable for that. Many European aircraft had/have better RWRs than their US counterparts
Era. The Tornado we have now is essentially the 1990s version, but did enter service in the 1980s. The F-14 is from the 1970s and I doubt the IAF upgraded it much
Note that at the time of the Iranian F-14 order in the mid-70s, the best RWRs found in Europe were American, found on F-4s and F-5s soon after. The only reason the European origin tornado has a superior RWR to the F-14 at a lower BR is due to its generally inferior flight characteristics, despite its much later production date.
well once i think about it from this angle it makes sence, i was just really surprised to see something that im used in a tornado missing or better said being worse on a tomcat thats higher ranked
Some other surprising aircraft with good RWRs are things like the Jaguar Gr1A at 10.3 and Buc S2B at 10.7 should have equal RWRs to the Tornado. (bug reports in for those but no action yet)
