I just saw the upcoming balance changes and what makes me confused is how Leopard 2a4 is getting moved to 11.0. it makes no sense, the Leopard 2a4 is a decent MBT but doesnt deserve getting moved to 11.0 and facing 12.0 in a full up tier. Not even mention it has DM23 which tbh is an underpowered for his BR and now ill be fighting 12.0 tank in a full uptier with DM23.
Because everything is going up genius, its decompression
Because everything is going up? Google BR decompression.
2a4 and the abrams are easily the best 10.7 mbts rn it makes sense they go up with decompression
It’s going up to 11.0 along with most of the strong 10.7s. The old 11.0s are going to 11.3, and the .3 are going to .7 etc etc, meaning that in a full uptier you will mostly fight the same stuff you already fight.
If it was being moved alone i would object but EVERYTHING moves as well. Its not an issue.
sadly this makes me realize that the premium flankers going up means nothing, as pretty much everything else that had to go against them before are also being moved up.
Yep, it should go to 14.0 like most other 13.7 are going to. Premium bias as usual
This is decompression. Everyone is moving up
The 10.3 T-72’s and T-80UD seem to have been missed though (despute the T-80B going up).
obligatory russian vehicle win ofc
Ariete P is also not going up, and the tech tree freccia has gone up again while the squadron one remains at 10.7
really bad vehicles are mostly staying as is tbf
yeah thats part of the point of decompression
Those t-72 and T-64 have miserable wr so they deserved buff. They compete with Spaa and ifvs for the lowest wr possible
No excuse for the T-80UD, but the 10.3 T-72s have been incredibly sad vehicles for a long time now. Them staying 10.3 isn’t a huge issue.
12.0s are also going up
I completely agree with this point. Increasing BRs across the board doesn’t necessarily solve the matchmaking problem; in some cases, it can make things even worse for certain vehicles.
Take the Leopard 2A4 as an example. At 10.7, it could already face 11.7 vehicles in a full uptier. If its BR is increased to 11.0 while stronger vehicles are also moved up, it could still end up fighting much more advanced tanks, potentially at 12.3,12.7.
Another major issue is its ammunition. The DM23 round is simply not sufficient against many of the more advanced vehicles it can encounter. If the Leopard 2A4 is expected to fight these opponents, it should receive access to a better APFSDS round, such as DM33, plus more, to make it more competitive.
The problem isn’t simply the BR numbers themselves, but the performance gap between vehicles. Older tanks shouldn’t have to fight significantly more advanced opponents without receiving the tools needed to compete.
BR decompression should create meaningful separation between vehicles of different capabilities, not just increase the numbers on the scoreboard. If the Leopard 2A4 is going to face stronger opponents, its ammunition and overall effectiveness should be taken into consideration as well.
We already have a place to discuss BR’s please do so there.
