Been playing the Swiss Hunter and why is it 10.0? lt might just be me cause l am a terrible War Thunder player, but why the F is this thing at 10.0? Literally every other plan l face is supersonic. The Hunter is slow turns like a brick. Not to mention my pilot an’t even handle 6Gs so turning is a big no no. l try to climb and then dive down but there’s no point cause every plane outclimbs me. l’m the one of the slowest and worst turning planes at this br. Why is it not at 9.7 or even maybe 9.3? Or is it just a skill issue (if so please teach me how to get better, and yes l have watched DEFYNs videos). Thanks
If your pilot can only sustain 6G you must have a low level crew.
The F.58 was moved up as it was smashing everything it faced.
The Hunters strengths lie in its ability to turn well and lose almost no speed. It’s got a good amount of flares and decent missiles.
BR compression, and the fact it was very good and had favourable matchmaking at 9.7.
u lack crew skills for jet dogfights imo, the hunter slaps
Nah can’t turn at all.
Can’t get any cause the plane so bad that l never get crew points
Its one of the few aircraft where ACE is basically a hard requirement.
It got moved up because it has CMs (and less importantly RWR) when its equivalent Hunters, like the Hunter F6, didnt. Relatively speaking it should be above them.
(I’d probably take 2x Aim-9Ps (iirc) over 4x SRAAM at the moment and the external fuel tanks are an honourable mention too, Hunter on low fuel is awesome, so take tanks and ditch them in a fight)
Hunter is a very capable aircraft, but is humstrung by the lack of CMs normally. F58 doesnt have that issue
You are silly
l musn’t be playing it right
Explain please
Have you unlocked all the mods?
also its an aircraft that does really well if you keep the air speed up. If you are always going low and slow, then you wont do well in it.
But there is also heavy heavy compression at that BR range. So if you get uptiered, you will struggle.
Hell no. Can’t even get close. One of the most painful vehicles ever to stock grind. Huge waste of Squadron Points
The wing efficiency is very high meaning speed lost in prolonged turns is low.
Ture, but the turn rate so bad
Its turn rate is good you just need to understand basic fighter maneuvers as well as energy maneuvering.
The Hunters thrust is low compared to other planes so it’s low speed turn rate will be poor as there is not enough thrust to push it around the bend per say.
But if you can maintain a high energy state and bleed enemies speed you can win very easy.
Judging a vehicle by its stock performance is like judging a book by its cover. It tells you nothing important. Wait until you have at least 80-90% of the stock grind done before even beginning to form a decent opinion.
So far you only have a handful of games in it, don’t expect to do really well until you spade it :)
Why you ask? Cuz it was borderline OP before, and kinda still is when spaded with a good crew lol
What makes it more OP than a Harrier GR.3 for example?
Virtually … nothing.
If anything it’s a good example why the BR adjustments based on players don’t work. I don’t even have the plane. I can see why are you saying it (because it clubs everything that doesn’t have flares and isn’t supersonic to at least be able to keep it away -farther than 2km away- the whole game).
But yeah, compare it to other crap (like Gr3 that i play , A-4N etc.) that have similar toolkit and may be at lower BR even and you’ll see it’s nothing OP about it.
Turn rate says nothing, it doesn’t need it… keep speed up give them AIM-9P , when they don’t have flares it’s a kill. Similarly , with flares if you don’t stay and try do Bullshido like maneuvers in wannabe top-gun fights and get the hell out instead, you’ll have high survivability as everything that has flares have in any BR at least till Magic 2/AIM-9M/R-73 stages of the game. It’s easy to figure out plane . Just BnZ with 9Ps.
That gives the feeling of OP to the opponents. When they kill me in a supersonic or plane with flares means i did something stupid like not keep an eye on them.
You say turn rate says nothing, but you can say the exact same thing about missiles, where they are rendered useless by good positioning. It’s how you use your available tools, and turn rate + MER can get you kills the same way Aim-9Ps can.
The Harrier barely flies compared to the Hunter. What are you going to do when a Hunter intercepts you? You can’t flare his tighter turn circle and energy retention.
I wouldn’t let anyone get close
What if the Hunter makes YOU come closer, in a safe manner? You’re not going to stay passive forever, unless you want a stalemate.
