Shouldn’t it be more powerful than the F-16C one? Because it is definitely worse. Takes forever to find something and the medium prf TWS has a very low range compared to most and difficulty in mantaining track

Its the worst one but the F-15 relies more on the radar without good short-range missiles
i love that radar, maybe the best i have used till now for 13.7, it can guide with no issues my R-27ERs without losing the lock easily, and TWS tracks reliably and has fast scan.

Crazy thing is the F-15s use have one of the best mechanical radars in the game then the devs changed mechanical TWS to be way worse across the board and for some reason the F-15 got hit especially hard
Yeah they used to be noticeably better. I’ve been switching to normal PD search when looking for someone in combat because TWS is borderline useless in the F-15C

To add to this, even the F-15C GE for some reason has quite limited TWS range with the AESA radar compared to all the other AESA radars that can pick up things at over 100km without any issue. It isn’t really a limiting factor for the GE because you can still pick up stuff at ± 70km range and it’s an AESA after all.

All radars seem worse than they used to be.
TWS doesnt work at all on many radars, you have to use TWS HD for targets to appear. Which is only really good at the start of the game.
Special mention to the mirage 4k which might as well just be HMD as its 100 % blind, even the mirage F1C shows and holds lock better

I just checked and it has the same issue as most of the others. TWS HD/ search HD works. TWS and search PD not so much.
It “works” because TWS HD has a lot more range at the cost of all aspect detection. But since it doesn’t track on all aspect it is not very useful
TWS doesn’t show targets even if its in front of its nose. Im pretty sure it didnt used to be this bad?
It shows but requires multiple passes/returns for a target to show. Thats why I switch to SRC PD in combat when idk where the enemy is but I know he is close. In SRC PD 1 pass is enough
I just played a few and its not that bad when it warms up lol. HMS spam still better

I tried the j11a after it and it takes a lot longer than the 15 to show anything on TWS. They can fly half way across map before anything lights up.
Yeah, the base flanker radar is the worst one present in 13.3-13.7. But my issue is that the F-15 should have a very good one (relativelly speaking) and is somehow worse than the cheaper, smaller, and less powerful ones in the F-16C and even the F-16A variants, for example.
The F-15 should have a better radar and it quite depends on it to perform well, unlike the Flanker with R-77, which doesn’t rely on keeping distance as much and has other advantages that make it work despite the trash TWS radar mode.
