You realize that the issue is that they are called APIT when they are SAPHE rounds? once they are “fixed” they would be SAP just like the 30mm, so they would still be better.
Without apds, the dca could go to 7.7 and be fine.
To start, the radar is one of the worst in the game. The targeting square wanders so bad the target is often OUTSIDE that box at 2km. Its better to aim manually than use the radar, at which point its similar to the other 7.7s.
The best comparable vehicle is the ZSU-37-2. Both have good fire rate. 53mm SAP vs 86 pen AP are pretty close, though i’d take the pen. The DCA has turret rotation and depression, but neither of these vehicles are going to be significant anti-ground threats with the proliferation of armor and post-wvw2 era. At 8.7 it sees more light vehicles, but isn’t a relevant AA. At 7.7 it is even worse anti-tank but significantly more relevant AA.
