Why is su27sm not strengthened

My mistake, at the beginning I was referring to the normal Su-27 (I’ve already corrected it), but yes, in comparison, both Su-27s are worse than their F-15 counterparts and especially the J-11A in which they can receive a br reduction without much problem.
Even in BVR the F-4F KWS has a better chance of winning than the Su-27SM

Only with FOX-3 - yes, but 27ER gives range and speed(at impact) advantage, if with fox-1 also

Nah the normal Su-27 is better than the F-15A. Still the F-15A should be 13.3 and not 13.0.

J11A should never have been added, I know J11B is a bit too good in terms of radar and HMD, but still fits better at 13.7 than J11A.

not even

1493 radar is a pd radar

They just didn’t want the chinese flanker to be the best one
it would have a way better radar and not have the shared curse of the R-77s inability to BVR

Still 1493 is like the best non ESA radar, plus the good RWR and PL12 is somewhat competitive with ARAAM it will be the best 13.7 probably, but obviously Chinese players haven’t paid GAIJING enough for that to happen.

Which is a shame when you remember that this update wasn’t just Flanker, it brought the completely dominant F-15C and F-15J(M) and redfor currently is dead

63V1 with full capabilities will be better

It depends cause 1493 has near 0 confirmed data, and if we are to talk about it the guess of range could be from 120km-200km, 10/40 lock/targets at least 6 datalinks and PL12B will be very competitive even with AIM120C. I get it GAIJING has little data on it, but adding a J11 with pylons ctrl C+ ctrl V from Su27SM is just pure dissapointment.

Theres is confirmed data that 63v1 have NCTR.(not in game)
About 1943 - no information like that.
Gives pretty big advantage.
Range near to be similar tbh

Yeah but it’s not very useful in game except maybe in sim. 1493 uses 3rd gen gallium nitride chip so it should have ‘more advanced’ processor but nothing is certain as of RN, actually same with almost all current servicing Chinese vehicles not up for sale.
Respect to Mirage_tank who manage to put together enough evidence just from CCTV to get ZTZ99A issue passed, literally made the model for GAIJING. Can’t do the same with J11B though…

Well, NCTR will be very important to separate MiG-29 and Su-27 in BVR, or other planes, that are have same signal on rwr
About processor - 63V1 was devoloped in 2000’s, theres will be not big gap, if it will be at all

I don’t quite know if any of the Chinese planes have NCTR RN data is very scarce and even data on Chinese websites are scarce about this technology overall. I did see an essay/article on NCTR software but no mention of particular planes that use it. J11B development started in 2003 and NCTR should at least have been a considered tech, but just like F16s the same signal could be J11 or J16D which will make a huge difference. Also the reliability at long ranges are a bit uncertain, the most common implication is for LANTIRN not to shoot at ABRAMS again lol

Mig’s are pretty enjoyable

year doesnt matter in that case actually
F-15C in Gulf War already had NCTR, but thats not reason why Su-27SM from 2000s will have it.
In F-15C A-A NCTR was one of “killer features”, which is reason why it had near to 40-0 k/d ratio in Gulf War, just because F-15 know about type of target

F15C had NCTR in gulf war? NCTR was mainly developed after gulf war as far as I am concerned due to the huge number of friendly firing. From what I’ve seen NCTR for AA was developed and first used by F22’s APG77 and that was not until 1997 when it was first flight took place (YF22 did not have same equipment).

It would never change anything. I played the su 27 in over 100 matches and got only 1 full downtier in it. WTF is this matchmaker.

yes

It got NCTR in 85’ on STT and TWS.

I’m a USSR main and the Su-27SM is the only top tier jet I currently own. But I will remain consistent with my posts on the APHE thread, and say that it should not be buffed if it is not realistic. If it could carry the R-77-1, then it should probably get those, but otherwise anything related to the radar or airframe should strictly stick to real life.

(I will say that the energy bleed while turning feels unrealistic, and the drag on the R-77 is too high, but I don’t know for sure)
