It’s not that simple.
Internals have to be modeled, statistics have to be recalibrated, data has to be collected on things such as ammo count, often times visual changes are still made to the hulls or turrets and probably more that I fail to mention.

the inside of the stormer just needs to be changed into dardo layout.
2 crew stay in the turret, driver is in the same position, ammo is stored in the same position.

Easy said when you’re not the one who has to research the model and vehicle, with this logic you’d be making more made up vehicles than Gaijin does.
Think about what you’re saying: “The internals don’t need to be overhauled except for the fact that things have to be changed significantly compared to the Stormers we already have in game, but it’s okay because we can copy paste the layout of a completely different vehicle with completely different dimensions.”
Alongside this you mention new components that have to be added to the vehicle.
So TL:DR; you admitted to the vehicle not being copy paste but are continuing an ego battle. Right.

Well finding a CCVL/better VFM5 to put for Britain is hard [I forgot what was in a list I saw the other month.].
But they do exist. And even if they don’t, they could have added more interesting light tanks, something like the fox or ferret would have been more fun.

My point wasn’t on light vehicles as standalone additions, it was about the light vehicle line and the lack thereof.
It makes it so light vehicles are criminally underrepresented in Britain.
I have a feeling the light line not being present is due to that recent post of a maximum of 7 lines per nation, 5 tech tee and 2 premium.
Though I don’t see why we just can’t shove all the SPAA’s, Tank Destroyers, and Anti-tank Missile Carriers into a single line. Then make that new space into a new light tank line leading on from the Tetrarch and Daimler Mk II. Then that way the SA line can become a Commonwealth line.
I still use a god damn VFM-5 for scouting at top tier because i don’t have anything better for them
