Why haven't the British Crusader tanks been fixed yet?

  • The important question:

Why haven’t the armor on the British Crusader tanks been fixed yet? The British Crusader tanks are the only vehicles from a starter pack that still haven’t been fixed, they’re also the only tanks at 2.7 that have major issues with their armor, this problem affects all the Crusader tanks, including Premium products that you would need to pay for.

  • The list of vehicles affected is also really large:
  • [British] Crusader Mk. II
  • [French] Crusader Mk. II
  • [British] Crusader Mk. II “The Saint” (Premium, Starter Pack)
  • [British] Crusader Mk. III
  • [British] Crusader AA Mk. I
  • [British] Crusader AA Mk. II
  • [British] Crusader AA Mk. II overlord (Premium, echoes of overlord pack)
  • The list of issues:

So as you can see, a total of 7 vehicles affected by the issues regarding the armor of the Crusader tanks being wrong, incomplete and substantially inaccurate, all of these tanks have plates of armor way thinner than they should be and are missing plates of armor (that are visible in the model by the way), in general, the tanks just desperately need a update, and addressing these issues is something that would be extremely easy, because all Crusader tanks share the exact same hull, only the turrets are different!

The worst part about it is that most issues addressing all these problems have already been accepted for years and that’s only counting the new issue report system, because people have let me know that these issues are even older, because they have been reported in the old forum!

Crusader Variants wrong Front hull armor
Crusader Mk. II internal mantlet not completely modeled
Crusader Mk. II external mantlet wrong thickness
Crusader Mk. II external mantlet armor is poorly modeled
Crusader tanks missing internal walls

The Crusader Mk. II “The Saint” is the only tank from a starter pack that has major discrepancies going on with it’s armor, despite all the reports on it, and as i’ll show that the discrepancies are very significant, and are making the Crusader tanks very inaccurate even if compared with other 2.7 tanks. And the required corrections wouldn’t be hard to implement, since all Crusader tanks share the same hull, and only the turret correction, of the Crusaders II would require a bit of work.

  • Showing some of the necessary corrections:

Here i made some highlights to help visualize some of the necessary changes, that the Crusader tanks desperately need, most of them literally just being increasing the armor thickness of some plates, the worst part is that you can see in the model of the vehicle itself that the armor should be a lot thicker than showed by the protection analysis.

  • How it is in War Thunder right now:

  • This is how it should be, how it needs to be:

  • The internal mantlet in Crusaders Mk. II is incomplete and needs to be finished:

  • In conclusion:

Like i’ve said before, the vehicle’s affected by this problem include premium vehicles! All these highlights that i’ve made are based in the already accepted issue reports, and as it’s clearly obvious, the discrepancies are substantial, and should not be ignored. I’m making this as a appeal to the devs, please fix the armor of our Crusader tanks they’re desperately needing an update.

at least someone has said it, there are some things that are clearly pressing issues, and that need to be given some priority, meanwhile, the issue with the crusader tanks that gaijin decides to fix is this…

and Gaijin expects players to react like: omg gaijin the smoke grenades count went up from 26 to 29??? wow! what a massive issue! thank you for fixing this pressing issue so quickly! bruh… come on gaijin fix things that are actually important. increasing the smoke grenade count by 3 didn’t improve the tank whatsoever.

Oh yeah there’s that one too, a lot of things wrong with the Crusaders and the 1 thing gaijin decides to fix, is to give it 3 more smoke grenades. such a game changer!

Yeah, yeah, i know :|

But i mean, they’re already in the game, and the devs had everything they needed handed to them on a silver platter by the community, so there’s really nothing stopping them from fixing the tank.

The Typhoon still has a number of bug reports like its missing UV filter or a squished HUD that were reported more than a year ago, I think the UV filter was even reported on the first dev server. Neither have been fixed yet and thats a top tier vehicle that is “FOMO” for 3 nations.

A low BR tank, that is only Britian… It will be at the bottom of the pile. CR is in the same place with the ready rack or spall liners

Be glad it’s not French - straight to 12.7

The worst part is that someone reminded me that way back in the day, they started to apply the corrections on the Crusader tanks, but them for some reason not only they reverted it all back, but they left it worse than it was before.

There’s also this report I’ve done. Over a year old and not even accepted. The turret ring incorrectly shares the same armour zone as the turret floor, it should also be at least 14mm thick.

I’m just assuming the external section of the turret ring (before the teeth). Which is roughly equal to the top of the hull double stacked. Top of the hull is 7mm, so times two is 14mm. That being said, I don’t know how Gaijin grab their turret ring values so it could be way thicker going off this diagram.

I remanber that from my old account, back when the crusader 2 was 2.3 the driver’s hatch armor was actually more accurate, but not only they reverted the change, but bumped the tank up to 2.7 without fixing it’s armor, if this isn’t bias i don’t know what it is

gaijin dont care about ww2 no more

That’s not true, they’re updating the model of the T-50 light tank, the T-50 out of all things, a vehicle that has absolutely nothing relevant wrong with it’s armor, unlike the Crusader II and variants.

I do think a big part of that is the new one they are adding as a premium(even tho the last 5, I think, Finnish vehicles were also premium and it should have been tech-tree), this update.

But like i said in the post, part of the vehicle’s affected by these armor issues are premium. Which make even less sense, why it hasn’t been fixed, a premium product that you need to pay for should not have a lot of considerable issues with it.

  • The Crusader Mk. II “The saint” from Great Britain’s starter pack
  • And the Crusader AA Mk. II (Overlord) from the Echoes of Overlord pack!

At least there’s one in the french tree too

Yes, that’s why i’m making it so explicit that part of the tanks affected are premium tanks
