Gajin not adding the AIM-9L to the F-4j(UK) is a clear sign of Gajin singling out nations that aren’t USA, Germany or Russia. With the current state of the game, with the all the British phantoms getting up tiered every single game, it is impossible to progress to the Gripen or the Tornados as you cannot go head to head with any jet coming your way and the fact you get the worst radar missiles in top tier.
Gajin you need to fix this NOW!!

while it would be a worth it trade off considering the US F-4J and S get Aim-7Fs this would probably make a bunch of those players make their own forum posts asking for the Aim-9L aswell

Same with EJ Kai and AAM-3, balance problems
As long as F-4J(UK) can’t access AIM-7F(which gives better overall stats than Skyflash/AIM-7E-2) due to historical issues but shares the same 12.0BR
I think Gaijin should consider giving
- F-4J(UK) AIM-9L as trade-off compared to AIM-7F
- or just buff BR of F-4J(UK) slightly downward for spec difference.
I just can’t understand why Gaijin thinks the balance problem with all-aspect IR missiles too much
while F-4J/S and F-4J(UK) shares same 12.0 BR
- US dismounted VTAS HMS before shipping F-4J(UK) into Britain
- RWR is older and worse because F-4J(UK) were shipped before upgrading RWR of F-4J fleet (Can’t detect MiG-21/23’s radar band)
- as historical, can’t use superior AIM-7F but retain the same Skyflash which is E-2 with a bigger fuse proxy.
ignoring all these inferior differences as ‘side-grading’ and selling at the same 70$

Moreover, the British Phantoms with 9L are not 12.3 worthy. Especially considering there’s the EJ Kai which would be better in every meaningful way (internal gun, AIM-7Fs, better radar)
Brit Phantoms have suffered from this issue for a considerable amount of time. Mostly compression is to blame, as well as some egregious stats based balancing.

Meanwhile the F-4F in Germany STRICTLY and ONLY used Aim-9J’s in American testing… and doesn’t get its proper Aim-9L’s

Well, I think F-4J(UK) with 4 AIM-9L might be fair trade compared to F-4J which has way superior AIM-7F compared to Skyflash (Skyflash and E-2 are better on only closer than 5km-ish thanks to better initial thrust, but everything is inferior beyond that range because of sustainer-less)
But, According to Gaijin’s Brit-hating POV with a ‘Compression problem’ as garnish
Gaijin might think F-4J(UK) with AIM-9L is 12.3 capable
while there are F-4EJ Kai with better radar and AIM-7F, or Kurnass 2000 with better radar and 6 Python and extra CM stays 12.3.
I think F-4J(UK) is 11.7 capable in its current state. and if we get AIM-9L. it will be finally 12.0BR capable unless decompression comes up and everything better than F-4J(UK) goes higher (F-15E on 14.3, M2K on 12.3 to 12.7, or F-4EJ Kai on 12.7)
If Gaijin really wanted to not give AIM-9L on F-4J(UK), then Gaijin would’ve buffed F-4J(UK)'s BR, but they kept its BR tied with superior F-4J/S.
F-111 on the same BR but with 2 less AIM-9L capability compared to the American counterpart, GR.1 with a worse engine than the rest of 11.7 Tornado counterparts…
Also, with a worse F-4J Phantom than its American counterparts…
I think the only real fix would be switch Fjunk with FGR2 as premium, and leave everything as it is as modifications and unlocks.
But I am talking about people trying to progress to the tornado. This is an issue with all British phantoms, and with them being at 12.0, it makes it impossible to progress.

Typical Gaijin: WDYM, regular British Phantoms have a better Spey engine than American F-4J/S as an advantage!
