Why Gaijin so reluctant to let players use guided bomb in naval 8.7, for their new "PR.23" or what?

no clue for arcade, myself and everyone i know that plays naval are RB players. Gaijin specifically told us in a devblog that they are reducing AI targeting accuracy so CAS can start to break the stalemates

I see 2 major issues with guided bombs

  1. Not everyone has an appropraite guided bomb carrier for the BR range. Britain for example, wouldnt have one till 10.3. It could be lowered, but would be waaaay… too strong. So its probably best that these not be added to naval until all can have them with the exception being things like the Fritz-X that can be countered reasoanbly easily.

  2. Do we really want orbital GBUs that cannot be defended against even by turning hard?

Im personally more annoyed by the Buc S1 being moved up. It did not have any guided weapons and unlike the Buc S2. Isnt all that fast nor is its bomb load actually all that unreasonable.

But for Iowa, we all know how worst the American BB is. I really think Gaijin should keep all original BR when using jet planes in naval.
And the point is, Gaijin should give every country a chance to revenge, not just lose 3 BB and shoot down by AA bots then quit.

F-117 would be insane in naval. You dont need it.

Unless you are okay with Britain getting the Jaguar or Buc S2B.

Or the Soviets getting the Su-25

etc etc

and whilst ive not yet fought a Soyuz in the Vanguard. I do think there is a fair amount of Hyperbole going on with her surviviability.

@HK_Reporter How is Soyuz looking on the survivability side of things?

I don’t think soviet should get SU25, but okay in British, they only have old 381 but with new ammo in next updates.
But in test server’s data, obviously Soyuz can beat all country’s top tier BB and without losing their own ship. And a point is, I think you maybe have met them, the _ HMS _ squadron, a whole squadron only play OP ships and using glitch to get more their teammates in one match to keep K/D. By the way, they only back away from war zone to keep longest range. When some one like them play 4 or more Soyuz in one match, that’s the real disaster. And that’s why I think Gaijin should give the players who killed by them a chance to revenge.

Maybe we have to check other ships as they are not fully worked.
For Soyuz… well bow-in or angled Soyuz would be massive disaster, but with fully showing side its just bigger Kronshtadt. Of course I know it still means Soyuz is better than other at survivability as the only two ship that is not punished by showing side is Vanguard and Richelieu(or maybe include Iowa if fully worked), but on random battle it would be different per situation.

Agree, I always think Souyz is just a larger Roma class, but in test server, Gaijin gave themselves too much : (

Roma is underperfoming severely in dev server. That’s why seems like Soyuz is too much.
Iowa and Soyuz could be in better status. Reason why Gaijin decided to not is maybe because that would create too much gap with other nations.

Okay, but if Gaijin can fix it during the leviathans updates, maybe I will change my mind.
And another question, is AA bots really nerfed in next updates? in now version bot’s PR.68 always start shooting plane even it is 6km away.

It seems big caliber AA with HE-VT won’t affect that much.
Autocannons are quite nerfed, but big caliber AA guns now fire from 10 km(8 km on live server), and HE-TF’s accuracy become more accurate.

So overall… no big changes, and some ships with many big calibers but scarce autocannon like Bismarck… were looks like buffed to me.

Oh, that seems like top-tier match are still no-fly zone when using heavy bomber.
By the way, in now version I think time-fuse HE is also buffed too. In test drive, I realized the country like Japan or German’s larger AA guns are more efficient, always shoot down test plane by first round.

Do they even work in Naval?

I long ago gave up on the OTO-Melara of the Sparviero: I know this gun (and ammo…) very well from the OTOMATIC, and am quite proficient with it, even at long distances and against fast movers, but on the Sparviero I’ve yet to kill an aircraft even in test drive…

Yep, HE-TF was nerfed in naval, but don’t control it manually, let AI to operate it.
OTO76’s Amos is HE-VT, u can just using radar to lock air target then shoot.

And you get hits with it?!?

I never do, can fire a whole magazine at a plane 2km away, not a single hit.

With the OTOMATIC I can quite reliably down a jet that doesn’t jink at 5 km easily with a three-shot burst, a hovering heli from even farther away…

HE-TF is a little hit and miss even with AI controlling it but is possible to get kills.

HE-VT is very very good and the AI will snipe from very long range.

Vanguards 5.25" HE-VT slingers are going to be awesome for anti-air

But there is another variable about HE-TF, the crew skill level, I think high crew level can let AI gunner set more appropriate time when shooting.

True, but irrelevant regarding my observation with HE-VT with proximity fuse…

But I mean, hydrofoil like Pg02 or Sparviero’s steady ability is awful when they are turning around. So, maybe u can just stop u boat before lock and shooting.

No matter whether I move or stand still, the 76’ HE-VT shells don’t do their job, whereas on OTOMATIC they work perfectly well…

but then haven’t used them in a while, maybe need to try again…

I think calibre has a big barring on them.

The larger calibre HE-VT shells have a larger prox fuse radius and so with the natural spread of the AI fire are more likely to hit. With the smaller calibre guns the induced spread is enough to cause them to not trigger.
