Why gaijin refuses to fix QN506

this vehicle has issues that have been there for more than a year and none of these have been adressed so far, reports in bug report are ignored all the time why??

-the 70mm missiles are fast enough (450 m/s) to avoid the initial drop but its still happening, if one could set the missile turret elevation when changing main weapon and then scrolling this would fix this problem entirely!! however if you change main weapon into the 70mm rockets scrolling is not possible.

(also notice in the next picture how the vehicle can set a fixed elevation independently on both turrets which means the designers knew about this issue and fixed it before gaijin and gta VI relase)

-its not possible to change the amount of munitions because you are only allowed to select one or zero which makes no sense since theres two launchers!!! and a single shot to either turret disables both launchers which is either bug or laziness in the modeling of the twin turrets (i say laziness because this problem is something that has more than a year so i cant think of anything else)

-its also missing it’s 4x S570 offensive recon quadcopters, its not designed to carry the standard drones we see in war thunder hence the helipad and not the catapult, you are artificially removing something that is in the original design of this thing for unknown reason because there is plenty of he-vt and ahead rounds on its BR to deal with this sort of stuff

-the advanced atgm only has fire and forget option which is not even performing an actual top attack into the roof but going straight into the cannon from a 45 degree angle, in real life the operator can also guide this missile with saclos mode on FPV through missile camera live feed which means it should work like Almas atgm for those who have seen Almas irl footage

if you are not gonna add the anti-tank missile carrier clasification to this despite it having more anti tank missile than BMPT and neither gonna portray its original missile performance then at least give this thing the quadcopters, if it was changed into light tank for it’s drone possessing ability (chasis is not from light tank and it cant carry personnel inside as ifv) then it should have access to it’s original drone because that was the reason it was changed into a light tank right or it was just for the sake of artificial nerf?

right. so independant turret control. didnt gaijin made a giant ass news article about how they just solved the turm 3 3 axis turret stabilization because it was too difficult with the engine this game uses?

and now you want them to solve independant turret control. jesus man, you truly do ask for hte impossible. poor gaijin developers are overworked as is.

There’s a ton of vehicles with multiple controllable turrets, most are stacked and some are separate, and we even have abominations like Marder A1 that actually have both.
The game can no doubt handle wacky turret setups, the devs though seem to be too busy copypasting M60s which has to be some of the saddest work available for them.

Yeah that is called man in the loop capability and gaijin will not add it for ground missiles for the time being. They’re happy to add it to aircraft missiles that don’t really need it though.

Same as spikes, will remain this way until russia gets spikes as well.

That is matter of game balance as recon quadrocopters would break the game even more, that was apparent in the mechsuit infantry event

I think even if they buff the QN506 and ATGMs overall it would still be held back a lot by the ZTZ59 its mounted on…they only used that for Show / Demonstration but i think the QN506 System was more designed/planned to be put on ZBD04 or those Type 08 when sold…but no one bought it lol

S570 are not quadcopters, they are proper loitering munitions (its recon drone should be a quadcopter though, I agree)

They have a 10km range and have an overall weight of 7kg

Biggest issue is that you can’t use the commander sight to fire them behind cover so you are stuck with a massive “I’M HERE” pole sticking over your tank

In my opinion, this should be the first ground vehicle to recieve man in the loop (as it was originally planned if I recall correctly)

You can at least use the commander sight to fire the small missiles, though you do have to shoot them pretty high and then guide towards the target without hitting the ground.

Yeah you can manually increase gun elevation and fire them off. It works okay-ish but their pen makes them pretty useless

i dont see how it’d break the game, i didnt join that event so im not familiar with the problem you mention but at this br 10.0 there’s plenty of vehicles capable of using HE-VT/AHEAD not just autocannon but even tanks capable of using these rounds and its the ultimate counter against drone; begleitpanzer, 2s38 or wz305 would absolutely destroy these and benefit from better XP in battles where these show up, QN506 is rare so it wouldnt show up as much to disturb the balance i think

ohhh i thought it was a grenade quadcopter, the same that was shown in the helipad lmao but i guess thats a different thing, i was reading and these are capable of piercing around 60mm of armor so im guessing it would only be effective against light vehicles, open tops and requiere both in game knowledge and accuracy/skill to defeat heavier targets while also avoiding anti aircraft fire, i imagine that it would be quite fun to use these in city maps

this can be done but the problem is manual elevation controls all weapons at once so you must chose which one will miss, if you set correct elevation for small missile then cannon fire will pass above it’s target or hit the wrong spot, it would be super useful if you could hit a target with both weapons at once, mini missile pen is not the best but the blast can blind the enemy for a second and this would be helpful considering this vehicle has many potato armor spots in the frontal armor, i wish these could be fired on the move too but its also not possible for some reason, the pen of these missile however is fine i think, they dont work most of the times but inflict a surprising amount of damage sometimes specially against light targets, there’s been opportunities where I’ve been saved by these things

Quadcopters are significantly easier to destroy than the current drones because they are unable to fly around in circles when the player isn’t in them, rather they are forced to be completely stationary

Except issue is you can hide the recon quadrocopter inside buldings etc. and in general in out of bonds areas since it doesnt need to move but can hover.

In the mechsuit infantry event on seversk map in the village cap, you could hide the quadrocopter in the church tower and keep it there.

Hell, just land it on roof of some taller building and climb only to spot and then descend again.

You can also be very sneaky with the regular drone while also being able to traverse the battlefield a lot faster and being harder to hit while also being quieter

but doing this still requieres you to move the drone into that building so it could be intercepted before that and proxy fuzes going above the building would still trigger the explosion, if the regular drone could be used to crash into the quadrocopter and destroy the rotors that would also make the regular drone more useful for that instance

the S570 loitering munitions apparently dont hover as these are not quadrocopter and act more like a shahed so it couldnt be hidden like that for an ambush, the quadcopter i saw in QN506 helipad which i had mistaken for the S570 seems to be something entirely different and used purely for recon and maybe to drop grenades

this is a vehicle thats rarely seen on battles so i dont think it would be harmful specially considering the fact that it is performing really bad now because it lacks the unique quirks that were intended for it, now if it was in the regular tech tree and there was a plague of this things roaming the battlefield it would be different story

S570 are small warhead loitering munitions and would struggle to kill even SPAA

7kg drone overall with what I assume is a shaped charge warhead that penetrates 60mm of armor would have basically the same power as a single AH-64 chain gun shell

60mm is enough to destroy many vehicles if you hit a specific spot in their armor, i use a ww2 vehicle on high tier armed with HE/27mm pen and that is enough to destroy every single tank in game in one shot if you hit the right spot

Would be worth considering that this has a very small post pen damage cone and travel length while being harder to aim

i couldnt find the specs for tnt power or speed, maybe the speed can be guessed from a demostration video but the power or type of warhead used on this thing seems to be hidden info

still would come in handy in certain situations maybe against open tops or light vehicles, to detrack tanks or disable cannon to farm assistance, if it has good enough speed maybe it could be possible to destroy helicopters with this but not sure, the regular recon drone was able to destroy helicopters if stuck in between the rotors but it was not easy

I am very confident in saying it cannot track tanks, I doubt it can even destroy the wheels of light tanks

The closest performing warhead we have is the shell of the apache

It is important to remember that this is meant to be a recon and anti infantry multipurpose weapon
