I mean, it does get external fuel tanks in real life, and most pictures do have it WITH fuel tanks like this example:
and even most sales and air-shows have it with external fuel tanks. So why not add it in the game? Wouldn’t it be more realistic if done so?

It would. But that would mean gaijin needs to put in work to add them. And to be honest these fuel tanks don’t really come into play that often.

Honestly fair enough when fuel tanks aren’t that useful in 8.0 and it doesn’t have afterburners but I was just questioning realism here it’s not that big deal for me though
Early jets often had these tanks, and some were very iconic (like wingtip ones on many early jets) so just for the visual it should be added

I would love that too. The stupid icon in the team tab even has them. My point was mainly just gaijin are lazy and cannot be expected to add this just because iwlt would not really impact anything ergo they wont add it. Sadly that is how it ism

I know how to convince them!, premium drop tanks!
just kidding but even props could use them, allowing to take minimum fuel without losing too much loiter time. Take the 109s, specially the K-4, being outperformed by almost everything, allowing it to carry extra fuel while main tank is at 30% and drop said extra fuel for combat.
Not to mention sim battles, but gaijin beats simulator battles like whipping a horse with a broken leg to make it run.
But that got me thinking, why does the A-21A-3 have 2 400 liter drop tanks even though its a prop and drop tanks would be so useless at that Battle rating
so if they do it to a prop, why not an early jet?
They release fuel tanks for aircraft very very slowly.
Many are missing fuel tanks, heck, even a few aircraft missing fuel tanks already in game on other aircraft

You do realise that until this last update those wingtip additional tanks (not drop tanks) were fixed to the A21 permanently. Idk why gaijin modeled it that way to begin with but I am sure it took way less work to make these detachable than it is to make new tanks for other planes.
Not defending them not adding tanks for other planes just stating that these were modeled since the plane was added and they just had to make them removable.
