Lets be honest, they don’t want it as an SPAA, they just want to abuse the broken APHE mechanics to farm tanks.
until it gets HE-VT like the WZ it is just a mislabeled tank destroyer.

How would it get HE-VT? Last I checked only two ZSU-57-2 had HE-VT
It could get the Chinese shell due to “technical comparability” just like the VEAK could get (and did have) the 40×365R HE-VT the Sgt York uses, I have also heard that the Egyptians have 40 or so in reserve storage with both radar and the proxy ammo, but I have been unable to find any pictures of them.
But mostly I’m just pointing out that it’s worthless as an SPAA without them.
Veak had was the keyword and no it used a Swedish HE-VT round that simply only entered when the Veaks trials were done with. It was removed because neither were used together. The Tridon iirc used that round though.
As for technically capabilities the only other ZSU-57-2 that I’ve heard may have tested the Chinese ammo was the ZSU-57-2M
Yeah, at the very least the Russian ones where never issued with VT ammo and I’m not claiming it should defiantly get it, just pointing out that those that are claiming Germany needs it for a SPAA in it’s current no VT ammo state are not actually after it’s anti-air capabilities.
They should just beg for the Finnish one then

ZSU-57-2 … Germany used 150 of these. Up to 1979. Then they replaced them.
So they ofc should get them. As well as Shilkas, BMP2 etc etc.
Germany is probably the last nation to need a 57-2
It’s historical. Every nation gets a leopard 2 why can’t Germany get historically used vehicles?

Unless they remove all copy paste then it’s far too late.
East German vehicles should have been added years ago. It’s why we got fake tanks like the panther 2, Maus, KT105 and the 341. We should have had tanks like the T-54/T-55, ZSU and the M47 should have been added to the main tech tree.

GER lacks a high pen autocannon vehicle 7 to 8 BR bracket. Ger just got the Wiesel and that ulgy recon tank with 60mm pen. Its badly needed, ZSU 57-2 has a double barreled autogun with 150mm pen APHE. It would be a much needed addition. Rather mobile autocannon vehicles are op on most map types in GRB. Aldo Germany operated over 100 of these.
yeah dude lets give them everything so theres no reason to play other countries, its not like they are already the best nation at these BRs for tanks

Why the hell is this always the argument? They were historically used; other nations have other nations vehicles.
Why play Germany when its best vehicle is in so many other trees? There is nothing unique in game.

Instead of pointing to a copy paste foreign vehicle and saying “we need that”, why not vouch for one of the indigenous German options? Sure, they won’t be ~7.0, but you’ll still be getting a potent APHE autocannon for mid tier while simultaneously reinforcing the tree’s identity with vehicles that other nations don’t already have.

Gajin tends to over BR German designs. ZSU-57-2 with rapid firing double cannons and 150mm pen AHPE at 7.0 is unthinkable for a domestic German design. ZSU is quite mobile with crazy good gunhandling and capable of zapping every tank in this BR range. Compare this to the Wiesel SPAA, which is already at 7.3 BR. Higher BRed, despite abysmal gun handling and just 60mm pen without filler. So, this soviet thing is exactly what we need, like 1000x better and lower BR on top. Yes!
Who in their right mind wants to grind Russia 4 times in a row, just to unlock some slightly different (and mostly inferior) vehicles each time?

I’m not claiming that what Germany has to offer can rival the ZSU-57-2. But adding it is only going to dumb down the tree even more for no reason, as it neither offers AA capabilities for 7.0 that would surpass the Kugelblitz, nor is its medium-caliber APHE all that special when there are similar 5 cm guns that can be added instead with the same flex.
5 cm Flak 41 has about 113m of pen at 10m, if you add it somewhere around 6.0, it’s still going to be an absolute menace, so I really don’t understand why Sparka is needed.
