I’m trying to grind for the new F/A-18 MLU and it’s pretty absurd how a single move i lose so much speed, is this a bug or an intended nerf?
Yes, it is that bad irl. B4, it was overperforming in sustained and was a lot better than it is rn. That’s why you shouldnt look at old videos of the plane, theyre woefully inaccurate. It got bug reported to how it is rn
That’s what delta wings do, you either need to seriously baby your turns, or have altitude to work with so you are converting it into speed in a dive while losing it in the turn.
Fr? Didn’t know that, but for sake of balance it already suffer from low amount of flares and ammo, it would be much better to not drop from almost mach 1 to 200km/h in seconds.
I just try to hunt A10s or SU25s or just bots in general, because other than these its pretty dificult.
Just BNZ them, if you start turning they will probably beat you, or you make yourself a very easy target for a 3rd party after losing all your energy.
Im not the best and had to learn a lot with the mirage IIIS, but you don’t want to be getting into dogfights in a deltawing unless you know its going to be 1v1 and then you have the advantage in the first turn or 2 and if you can’t deliver a deathblow in those turns you turn into a brick and die.
The biggest thing I had to learn was just stop being a spastic and make 100% sure if I was going to start turning with someone that there wasn’t going to be a 3rd party showing up any time soon.
So its not so much that you can’t dogfight, its just you blow everything in one and if its going to turn into a 1vX situation its better to just keep your speed up and try to avoid that situation all together.
The other problem you will find is even if you keep your speed up there might be planes in the match that can run you down regardless, so you need to learn what those are and think way ahead and plan your positioning so those planes dont end up close to you, force you to bleed speed, and then put you into a 1vX situation you don’t want to be in because they had 3rd parties with them that will end up catching you when you have to maneuver to force that guy to overshoot or dodge guns/missiles.
