I already have this package installed on my PC prior to the WT game trying to install it.
Since the updater gives no reason why I should “re-install” this software, i’m not interested in adding it to my system. If I knew WHY Gaijin was trying to force me to re-install this package, I’d feel more comfortable at least knowing WHY they were pushing it every time that I try to start the Client, and also be better informed as to whether it would in any way benefit me.
Or conversely, I should be able to disable the Pushes, so that I don’t have to cancel the install every time that I start the Client, and risk accidentally “giving permission” via a misclick, rather than actually assenting to giving my active, informed consent to this program that I don’t want.

something in the game depends on it
Thank you for your prompt reply.
But I installed it prior to the game requesting it. Why has the Tusk Major Update begun trying to force me to re-install it?
Shouldn’t my current install be adequate? I don’t like blindly install software without any clear reason why.
Also, the game seems to continue running fine without it.
I’ve seen no problems. So if it were required, you’d think that Gaijin would inform us of why, and which problems it might cause.
It might need a newer version of it. Dynamic linking is quite complicated and I am not sure why people are getting prompted to install and it might be optional. Maybe some function has a faster implementation in the newer version or something.
