So i been playing French ships some months now , until just yesterday saw how much La combattante costs
Lets begin with , its the most expensive 3.7 vehicle in the whole game , its actually outrageous a V rank sitting at 3.7?!
Whats even crazier is that it costs the same price with a vehicle for example the MPK pr12412 which is also 4.3 br
700k sl is the price and 200k the crew train , it already is pretty expensive
Moving on to the la Combattante which is a V rankbut lower br at 3.7… same price? really?
How does one explain this? it doesn’t make one sense to me? i believe it should be reduced at least by 20-30% sitting atleast 560k sl instead of the super expensive price of 700k
And even 560k is yet again too much , look at this other USSR boat that sits at 3.7
I would appriciate it if this vehicle’s price would drop because its just ridiculous!

It’s also French. Half-baked, without either of the two missile sets that’d make it decent, and faces enemies it really, really shouldn’t…
If the French reserve boats didn’t exist, it’d probably be among the worst naval vessels tier-for-tier ingame due to its lacking armament for exorbitant cost in RP and SL. Frigates like the Soviet and Japanese automatic 57/76mm slingers cost around the same (or in some cases less) , for much better effectiveness…
Yeah, the largest downside of this ship by far, is its missing SS12 missiles which would have made it at least competitive. I wonder if a report’s been issued on that front.
Aye, been spading through the french boat line over the last week or so with a friend, its lot of very bad boats, with a few good ones mixed in. The vosper is competent, the Arras is odd but usable, the Marne claps, the Surprise is decent, just suffers due to the destroyer spawn, and then you have the VLT-1 and Combattante, which are both so unbelievably bad, which is odd because they are the end of the tree, in terms of rp costs.
Divorcing coastal and bluewater was the dumbest thing they did to naval. You cant even find low tier coastal matches and if you do 90% of the lobby is bots.
If people could grind coastal with bluewater there might be significantly more players in naval than there is now. Its bad enough already that literally every br naval half the match is bots because its so dead.
Coastal is just as bad if not worse than the heli grind before you could research with tanks. There must be some omega whales in the naval community keeping coastal in as bad of a state as it is now or they just dont give a crap at all.
Honestly guys i stopped playing coastals sometime after this post , you can expect why ahahah… But honestly i do agree bluewater should be able to research coastals too , due to the fact no one plays coastals like maxnium you get 9-12 people on a goos day. Plus the grind there is impossible
Basically, Imo France has the worst small boat grind out of all the trees, its a shame really, as I have seen many cool boats suggested, we just haven’t had the chance to see them yet.
actually for boat the only possible answer for French is just switching position and lower rank or BR. Even suggestion in forum can’t make french coastal ‘boats’ like german or soviet ones(lets forget for short that soviet didn’t even get their best coastal boats so far). Maybe one day if ‘only made for export’ ship comes out then status will be little better, but that’s not the case for War Thunder now.
Then answer would be addition of cold war frigate and corvettes, which other nations with mediocre boats, like US, GB and JPN does. But for now, the only frigate in French coastal is British made WW2 one, and we would have to wait for long times.
The large frigates are a bit of a mixed bag, some are cool and have a niche like the British ones, but most are kind of mid at best and get chokeslammed by their dd equivalents at the same br, honestly france needs more torpedo boats with decent armaments, as right now the vosper is their only good one and its not even french.
