Why does pressing R activate SAM seekers on ground vehicles?

No one thinks you’re stupid. We’re literally trying to help

But I guess you really don’t want it

So the seeker is activating despite you removing the key bind correct?
I did a bit of testing and un-bound R from all my controls and got the same thing. “R” appears to be hard bound to activate the seeker, regardless of whether its a primary or special weapon and oddly only activates the seeker, so it’s neither a toggle or a fire command as it won’t shoot the missile after its locked either.
I have noticed there is a similar issue with aircraft where holding space if you already have a dumb fire bomb or rockets in flight it forces you into weapons tracking camera for bomb/ rocket, it’s completely disconnected from the weapons tracking camera as it wont track A2A missiles or guided bombs/ ATGMS.

yes. but only opening the seeker, which i found very strange. i do know what you are saying for planes, space will open an AAM seeker when i have weapon selection disabled but once locked will not fire. if i have the AAM selected, space will open the seeker and also fire once locked. very strange indeed.

@FlyingDoctor @Anonymous4245 my point was that i already stated i’ve tried everything including exactly what you said and resetting controls to default. idk it really seemed you just didnt read anything i posted previously so ¯_(ツ)_/¯

i was able to change it to something i liked

does pressing R still open your seeker even after rebinding? maybe it is just a weird ass bug.

I actually don’t think you have done what I’ve said, and again, go report it as a bug because you obviously aren’t looking for help.

I might have found it, try un-binding your “fire rockets” key in naval controls. It seems to activate the seeker for ground for some reason.

If the OP had tried what I said about the replace method, this would likely have covered this.

It worked, thanks.
And what you said wouldn’t work as in the default controls R is not bound to anything other than Lock Radar/IRST on target.
