with each new update, more and more anti-ship missiles are added to the game and people are hyped up over it. “this missile can hit this boat from a light year away!!” “this missile can turn around and hit again even if it misses!!”
but why, though? in air rb, it doesnt give that much mission points, i think. nor is it that cruicial in nuclear escelation (maybe against some boats that fire missiles at aircraft). is there something i’m missing? i think they get way too much attention than they should, because players playing naval are not that common to make this a huge deal.
In Air Sim, Denmark map, theres a lot of naval targets including carrier. In Tunisia a carrier. Not only sinking them gives you good points, but also bleed a lot of enemy tickets.
In my case, using the JH-7, I rather bring two ASM than two of those stinky ass rocket pods that miss everything.
But the main reason we are seeing more ASM its bc of nuclear escalation mode actually.
Ancient megaNAVALodons woke up from their slumber and are ready to wreck havoc.
Can understand that hype. Your (maybe even favourite) aircraft (or multiple aircraft) gets new toy (or toys) to play with. We even have “sandbox” modes where you are free to do whatever you wish (asb, escalation). Including sinking ships. Had this feeling when arms were introduced because plenty of my jets and even heli got 1 more reason to play them again.
