Why do you think the top-tier tanks have been neglected since 2023 until now?

Why has the company Gaijin neglected the matter of tanks? Gaijin added fourth-generation aircraft, but not all of them are at full strength. It seems that there has been a reduction in their capabilities despite the fact that the same capabilities do not exist in reality, in order to match the ranks and capabilities of other aircraft and the game’s budget between countries. As for the highest version of the Abrams in America, it is said that its armor is much stronger than what it is now, and the company reduced its capabilities to match the game’s budget between countries.

Why, then, has Gaijin not yet added fourth-generation tanks or fourth-generation anti-aircraft systems? This is to keep up with ground forces, similar to the air forces. From my observation over the past few years, there seems to be a pattern where one year tanks are added, and the next year aircraft are added. If this update also includes fourth-generation aircraft, I believe the addition of fourth-generation aircraft has concluded, and all countries are satisfied with that. What do you think?

I also believe the next step in updates, if they plan to add fourth-generation tanks, would include models like the Leopard or Armata 2021 edition (with a note that Armata has multiple versions, not just one or two). Another potential addition could be the M1A2 Abrams SEP V3 (USA), the Challenger 2 (UK), another version of the K2 Black Panther, or another edition of the Leclerc or Leopard 2A8. There are many tanks that could be added to the fourth-generation list. As for the rest of the world, what do you think? When will there be a major update, similar to the addition of fourth-generation aircraft, that includes fourth-generation tanks and anti-aircraft systems as well? What do you think?

maybe, but tanks are way more at the end of what there is, compared to planes.
With planes we are starting to get to the 2000’s on the regular, whereas the Leopard 2A7 AV is from the 2010’s already.
Also Gaijin hasn’t even modelled stuff like the ballistic computer for tanks, which is a big thing.
So yes, War Thunder shifted again towards air, and I am sure, that with better AA Systems it will shift again etc.
But air has more room to grow.
AESA radar for Gen 4 (gen 4.5), then Gen 5 and now Gen 6, with the B21 and F47 (NGAD) already flying.
Also we have weapon systms not from Darts 10 years development, but missiles with further 3 decades of development (AIM 120 B is 90’s, then the C 3/5, D and now the AIM 260, with different missile systems like the Meteor also existing).
Besides the Ballistic calculator in MBT’s and regenerative steering and smaller things, we already have most systems on tanks.
But we are just scratching the surface what a 5th or even 6th gen figher (-bomber) has and probably has.

TLDR Tanks have almost reached their limit, whereas planes, and esp their munitions, have more space to grow.

We accelerated to the top tanks too quickly

Im still waiting for tanks added in 2019 to be rendered usable. Would quite gladly pass on another Challenger 2 variant or a half-baked Challenger 3 prototype just for them to overhaul the existing tanks.

The full strength Challenger 3 might be fun, but will be nerfed.

What is needed is more light tanks/IFVs nad SPAAs

How, my friend, did we accelerate to the top tanks so quickly? Do you play ground forces or not? Are you aware of the fourth-generation aircraft that were just added? And yet, no fourth-generation tanks have been added to the ground forces to keep up with ground players as well, so they can be satisfied, as long as the game balance is maintained without disrupting the ranks in ground forces.

And some key features like spall liners have been disabled for tanks like the A7. Which means there is just no tech progression. Same tank model, same gun, same ammo for years and years. More or less same protection patterns. Its kind of pointless. I just don’t see how its different to tanks from like 4 years ago. I’m still shooting at the same weakspots like 5 years ago, absolutely no change. Also die to the same UFP shots like 5 years ago, also no real change. Kind of stuck everything.

Thus we are missing an absolutely plethora of them from the eras of leopard 1, chieftain, type 74s, amx 30s etc.

Theres some minted af Leopard 1s out there, aka 1a3 ,1a4 which are missing.
the various vickers systems based on teh vickers 3 platform.

Chieftains.
Cr1s

Type 74s,

Chinese tanks the inbetween ones after the ztz88s but before the 96 (dodgy prototypes)

the list is beyond long. But people cry for more modern and more modern stuff, and so we will run out of jets and tanks soon and then have to go back to add the long list, and most folks will be pretty non interested in it.

Because were missing quite close to hundreds of tanks from the post WW2 / cold war era. were closing in on MBTs that arent in service yet
AKA the Challanger 3 which isnt in service.

Leopard 2a7V is generation four is it not or is it one of those weird middle ones.?
T90M is literally the most modern T90 tank fielded and again is nearly fourth gen as it incorporates many things from the armata (alegedly)

Cr3 TD while a shambles isnt even near service yet. and is fourth gen.

Need I continue?

Type 10,

Leclerc

If they’re going to add more tanks but model them incorrectly is pointless.

Yes, thats what I wanted to say. We have a 2A7 ingame, but its shooting ammunition from like 25 years ago, it never used. Spalliners are part of the model, but check them out, they are off. It was fun for some time to not die to every shot, but then they suddenly were offlined. Also strangely the protection layout did not really change. You still have to play it like the Leopard 2A4 or A5. Don’t show ya hull etc.

Its like a loop and youre playing the same tank again and again. I bet when there’s the 2A8 we still shot DM53 and hull/ufp can be shot by anything. Nothing ever changes.

because prior to that it was consistently ground focused updates

We have missed so many tanks, IFVs and SAMs
Now we have modern day current tanks and the next step is tanks not even in service

Or tanks that are essentially copies slight differences that make no difference to game play.

Next top tier tanks:

M1A2 SEP V3
Leopard 2A8
T80 BVM Obr 23
T90M Obr 24
CR3

They went too fast

I understand you, but the Armata is part of the tanks that have entered service, though it hasn’t participated in a war yet, nor the current war. It has many versions, and there is another tank similar to the T-90M, an export version called the T-90MS, which has many good features, including a reverse speed of over 11 km/h and the ability to fire anti-tank missiles. However, at least the reverse speed issue in Russian tanks exists. As for the Japanese tanks, what do you think about them? As for the Germans, Spall liners should be added as they were before, along with the cylinder that was recently added to half of NATO’s tanks, which causes the turret to stop working when hit anywhere, making it difficult to move or aim afterward. What do you think?

It did not enter service. It never advanced beyond the pre-production phase. Its not in production and the project is likely canceled. Ofc it will be in WT sooner or later, but its no service tank.

It’s entered service
It’s just acquired advanced optical stealth technology since it’s announcement it’s entered service

I mean technological development.
Of course there are a lot of tanks.
But the tanks in war thunder are already near what we have irl as the max, unlike planes.
So performance wise they are closer to the limit.
That’s what I meant, not number of tanks.
Hell there are loads of WW2 things, that should be added

and cold war, id love to see many of the cold war MBTs and variants we are missing
