exactly what the title says, why is it that you can shoot at the same time as someone or before them but when you die it just disappear. I easily could have gotten hundreds of kills if this didn’t happen

The difference in ping between your computer and theirs.
The combat is resolved on the server, not on your computer.
So when you “shoot at the same time” whoever has the lowest ping actually shoots first - and they may actually kill you before the server receives the message that you have fired.
You shell didn’t “disappear” - it was never fired.
Happens to me a lot - I play at 200+ ping, and almost always lose “simultaneous” shots

I play at 400 ping
If you play at a higher ping (1000+) , you have to predict where the enemy will be and fire a shot. If you’re lucky enough, you can get a kill.
I play at like 500 ping or more - tell me about it

It didn’t disappear - it was never fired. You didn’t exist at that point. But your conscious thoughts had momentum and took a moment longer to dissolve to nothingness, in which time you visualised your shot firing…

while it makes sense this is very aggravating, because generally I’m playing around 100-250ping
Like other said, it is most likely due to ping. When i get ping more then 100 it also happens with me and when it is less then 100, it rarely happens.
