Why does the t26 and m6 heavy tanks have shuch poor amor at their br.

… I’m sorry to say but … Skill issue. Also use the m6 backwards its got 10 feet of engine but both t26’s have pretty good armor.

I mean, the M6’s armor isn’t great, yes, but the T26? The T26E5 can stop the long 88, and the Super Pershing is quite resistant to the round as well.
M6 doesn’t have poor armor, it is just more like a strong medium tank in this regard rather than a heavy. It makes up for it with high firepower and far better than average mobility for a heavy. T26E1 and T26E5 have good armor overall for 6.7

M6 was a poor heavy tank - poor armour was 1 of the reasons
m6 poor yes but t26e1-1 or e5 is good
And THEY both have good armour…
m6 is the volumetric game
its just a heavy medium tank, armor not enough to be heavy
T26 is the best American heavy in the game, angles mean everything

you should be more specific… everyone is saying T26 but this is not just one tank :(
T26E1 has great armor, it even does well in uptiers where people use apds, the add on armor can stop apds bc of layered armor mechanics. It even stops the conqueror completely. (Though it wouldn’t do much if it penned anyways)

This topic is off to a bad start when you’re asking why - instead of if. USA heavy tanks like the T26E5 have fantastic armour. I play USA 6.7 just for fun because of how good tanks like the E5 are.
Also, here is my T32E1 after surviving a direct hit from a Sturmtiger:
Now - if this was a topic titled - ‘Why does the M6 have poor armor’, you would be onto something. You certainly don’t play M6 for its armour and you shouldn’t expect it to ever save you ingame.

Because theres 2 heavy tanks with t26
They dont have poor armor (except the m6 that thing is just sad t1e1 is much better and it is basically the same tank with a better transmission)
It comes down to BR.
T25, M26, and T26E1,T32E1 are all 1 br too high. Its been a runninrg joke. M26 has the mobility of a Tiger 2 but nowhere near the armor or gun. T26E1 trades even more of that mobility for a patchwork armor and an incredibly long reload gun that give it nowhere near the reliability or flexibility of a tiger 2 with few actual positives. T32E1 is a T32 with only a meanigless UFP upgrade that protects you against nearly nothing the T32’s armor layout doesn’t already. 7.7 for a tank with a 19s reload 90mm is pathetic.
That being said, T26e5 is rather well armored and the T32 is one of the better heavies in the game. The M4 105 is the best armored low teir tank by a long margin and the 75 jumbo does the job of a heavy very well.
Ik ive spaded both t26 heavies i just need to know which one the guy who made the post is on about because t26 isnt really narrowing it down outside of the fact theres 2 t26 heavies
