Why did the fox and scimitar got nerfed?

These very much are entirely different subjects yes. The protection of a vehicle is significantly more of a complex issue than a traverse speed.

Just how the cvrt chassis can not even withstand the caliber round it was designed to withstand lol.

Can they also fix how the engine seems to eat every shell i throw at it sometimes?

Hey if the Fox’s turret rotation speed is being reduced because its a purely mechanical, manual, process, does that mean that the Fox will no longer suffer a slow turret speed when the engine is off and the battery is dead?

If it does there will be rage.

I just tested another tank that has handcrank turret traverse, the T-60, and it gets slower when the battery is dead.

There is not justification for this and I am going to make a new thread to discuss it as a problem in general.

I think a more major issue is both the Fox and Scimitar lack significant armour protection.

As well as the CVR(T) the fastest tank in the world being out accelerated by the likes of the T-55

Unless you’re saying they are supposed to have more armor than the game models, I think that’s just the reality of being small light vehicles.

No they should have much thicker armour than is in game.

Frontally at 200 meters or more it should stop 14.2mm AP(c) as it was legitimately designed too.

In game you get this

one was about the engines and gearing guess what it got “not a bug”

I’m going to guess it’s one of two of the biggest cry babies in War Thunder: American and German mains.

There was a whole thread about “Fox is too OP”

Filled with Germans crying because their behemoth of a heavy tank cannot aim down to beat up a tank that can be countered by the bloody machine gun of the D.371

The CVR(T) should be able to tank 30mm auto cannon fire from long ranges and be faster imagine if it was modeled correctly lol

If things were modelled correctly, Germany would be one of the worst nations, especially since historically, their engines gave out going over an ant hill.

It’s the case for a lot of manual traversed guns or turrets.

And its something that needs to be changed for all of them.

You mean this one?

funnily enough it doesn’t say anything about how fast it can traverse. Id know as I’ve read it.

CVRW fox uses a two speed hand driven traverse drive. one low and one high gear, one for speed and one for more sensitive incriments. You have the faster gear to get the gun in the right direction really fast. Ive used similar mechanisms on turrets from doing demonstrations at museums. only 30 degrees a second in the high gear is a major lowballing of how quick that little turret can snap around. as no manual actually states from my own experience with Anti tank guns and such id say a safe assumption is a around 45 deg/sec over 30. These turrets are no heavier than the weight of something along the lines of a 2pdr anti tank gun unit and that is capable of about the same, as I’ve done it myself

Edit: Fox has the option for an electric traverse drive. 60degrees a second with that is very likely
