If anything id say its more of a disrespect to a country to break its vehicles into several trees meaning you cant ever run a full nation lineup. this goes for canada and australia
You don’t need to steal the Abrams from Americans, and you don’t need to steal the Leopards from Germany.
Your terminology, not mine.
So you find the Canadian military insulting for fighting each other in training and war games. How anti-Canada of you [this part is a joke].
I don’t feel some nationalistic urge to have a full-Aussie lineup, but i understand some feel differently.
We did actually trail the M1A2 i believe before choosing to make CR2
fair enough i guess, not having the intrest in a historical or nationalist lineup isnt neccessary to the game, however i do feel like that takes away a major reason to tolerate the grind to actually aquire such a thing.
just put every tree intot he US and RU done
If there’s evidence, there’s a trialed vehicle they can get in the future.
No objections on that front.
There was a pamphlet shared around a few months ago about it man ill see if i cant locate it
so theres a few articles around ones a direct reference to the house of commons hansard debate
https://publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm198889/cmhansrd/1988-12-20/Debate-1.html
its rather lengthy but its the full debate.
this itself is another source from the tank museuem, im currently quite busy and dont have much time to search for more.
We also had this in the 90s
glad we didnt pick the abrams
There are a billion topics about this, and they all have the same answer from Canadian’s/the number of Canadian’s who support the idea is low. We would rather be part of the UK tree if it came down to being a sub-tree. On top of that, the US has no need for a sub-tree nor room for one, due to all its missing equipment.
Plus, with how sub-trees have been, if we look at these suggestions that show everything that could come, you would be able to have an ST of only UK, C&P until 8.0 at least, if anything gets added to the tech-tree in the first place.
Ideally, we either get a new tree/CAN-ANZAC tree or the sub-tree rework for a UK sub-tree. Because even if the majority of Canadian players want a home, there are far better options than the US tree.
Okay, I’d sign up for a whole new tree rather than using the British tree as a dumping ground.
Makes as much sense as a “Commonwealth” tree lol
Hell, Britian could’ve just been an American subtree
The Abrams are really good.
However most of the mid minor nation mains would still be just as mid in an Abrams as they are in their current MBTs.
There are still quite a few British designs left to add. Britain has always deserved its own tree. Gaijin just likes that copy paste life.
Not saying the US should get Canada. But we’re just gonna ignore the joint tank programs between the US and Canada? Like this is a tank and airplane game… and most Canadian tanks/planes and even helis have more in common with the US or Germany than Britain. By your logic, America should be a subtree within Britain.
Note that Canadair also produced several British vehicles under license aswell. IIrc both the Skinks and Sextons were made to British specifications aswell.
I mean joint tank programs can just go to both the US and whatever tree Canada goes to (likely UK).
Just like how the US got the MBT-70 and Germany got the Kpz-70.
you mean like it would be to make taiwan a subtree of china?
Errr- what joint tank programs? I guess you can say the LAV-II, which is listed as US-Canada, but the rest are Canada is the only nation of origin listed. Any other joint tank programs Canada was in with the US were part of the ABC group, which had the UK part of it. Any other project was Canada-UK or Canada by itself.
Well, I give you helis, as all the WT possible ones (ASW) are US, the others are wrong.
Let’s start with tanks: The only ones that have any connection to Germany are the Leos, which are massively outnumbered by tanks from the UK. The US is a bit closer due to more modern designs using US weaponry, but the older stuff, if US of origin, 8/10 times came from the UK(as a gift or otherwise), or had British armament.
As for aircraft, well, the US does make up more of the licensed-built jets, our domestic engine(Orenda) got its start by studying the Meteor F Mk III. And for props, well, the UK wins it, hands down.
