Im on about fucking SRAAM’S
Ever used AIM-7C? It’s the worst radar missile in game. It rarely hits any thing.
If we dont get an SRAAM overhaul by the time of the next BR thread, I think i might do a proper suggestion for the F6 to move down. Though its usually ignored.
Hunter FGA9 [9.3] vs Hunter F6 [9.7]
Difference:
2x Aim-9E vs 4x SRAAM
FGA9 has stronger wing spurs
FGA9 has drag chute
Identical in all other respects.
SRAAMs in their current state are likely inferior to R-60 and FM clearly isnt good enough to warrant 9.7 on its own. Only reason for 9.7 is SRAAM.
So I think there is a semi-reasonable argument to get it moved down these days. at least until the overhaul.
He literally just suggested everything I personally do when fighting Yak-38s and they all work.
Fighting F-14’s with that thing was some fuckin party, I didn’t have it at the time but its mental to me that that was allowed to be a thing. Particularly when the 9L was also new and ridiculously hard to flare.
I would put the FGA.9 down to 9.0, its a marginally better version of the J34 which is 9.0 and then put the Hunter F6 to 9.3 unless the YAK38 moved up, then I would agree that it’s better to have 2 unplayable vehicles, than have 2 vehicles which absolutely dog on every vehicle under them because of some broken (at their br) missiles.
I would like to see the Yak-38 move up as IMO its more viable than the hunter which is in an equally unfortunate spot.
From my limited experience with the Hunters, they’re more viable. especially the F.58 with it’s flares and AIM-9Ps
I think honestly the Yak-38 is pretty balanced considering it lives and dies by it’s missiles
F.58 is definitely viable and genuinely pretty good at 9.7, its the rest of them which I think could be shifted. However its worth noting I absolutely loathe the Hunter and its existence so I’m pretty harsh on them.
I definitely think it could go to 9.7 to be honest. I think the F-104 and Hunter F.6 should be there too.
Maybe. FGA9 does have the notably better engine and AAMs. Whilst they are bad AAMs, they are still AAMs, I think 1 BR stop between the Hunter F1 and Hunter FGA9 is required and so neither can really move down currently.
Hunter F6 though. Probably should move down to 9.3 or the Yak-38 move up to 9.7 maybe. But that bracket is horribly balanced, especially with the 10.3 premiums that scew the MM
Cause it can’t get behind you.
J34 has 2 AIM-9B’s. In my ideal world, Hunter F.1 would go to 8.7, FGA.9 and J34 at 9.0 or 9.3 and then the Yak-38 and Hunter F.6 at the same br at either 9.3 or 9.7, honestly 9.7 is better for everyone.
Its kinda insulting when the Yak-38M is lower yet better for what it is configured to do, with better missiles and it is able to get better launches because not only is it faster but it actually pulls AOA to get a lock and lead the missile.
Overall, something gets shafted but i’d rather one plane moved up and is slightly less viable than the entire bracket below get shafted by one plane, i’ve said the same about the F-5’s, F-15 and the Hunter, now i’m saying it about the Yak-38.
Yep, I agree with all.
trust me you are going to have a bunch of these people tell you " you shouldnt let it get behind you or its engine is poor " yet these are the same people that complained about the A7s literal flying bricks. You will see when ever its a russian plane these people will make all kinds of excuses, if its a u.s or british plane? Its going to be up tiered and constantly complained about.
A7s are fine where they are at. maybe even dropped one bracket. I can see them dropping after the br split. They do well in grb but are not very good in arb.
