I place a target pont on the map to help navigate to ground targets. In some aircraft I’ve flown before, the target point shows up as some kind of cue in the HMS, which makes it much easier to locate the area in sim battles.
But in the gripen i cant see it…
The only place I can see it is on the map, and briefly in the HUD when I’m pointing directly at it. which means I basically have to fly to the area and manually scan the ground with the pod to find targets.
Am I missing a setting or keybind for this, or is Target Point symbology simply not implemented for the Gripen yet?
Curious how other Gripen players handle CAS in Sim without any cue to the target point…
its because the gripen hms in war thunder cant see target points, realistic or not idk. i dont have the information to change it
Although it does show in the hud so its not completely useless at cas
Yeah still waiting to get a bunch of features to the HMS… mostly i use the minimap or targeting pod feed in MFDs since it has this boxy white dot that can quickly guide your nose on the marked spot once you get used to it.
When the guide dot (red arrow pointing at it) is straight above the reticle in MFD your heading is to the mark, it also needs to be driven right into the upper edge of the screen, thats when the marked spot is right on your gunsight in the HUD. It wanders around the edges of screen ive marked in blue lines, if its on the left side off center, turn left. if its on right side, turn right. if youre upside down or just rolled to the side alot it can be in the middle but its guiding you in the opposite direction.
another method im using is activating laser designator because it shows up as a red circle on the marked spot, its been a huge help for me in harrier t.10 finding ground units to gun down because after i spent all my bombs it doesnt show marked spot even on the hud.
(i used JAS39C because my E doesnt have targeting pod yet)
